Breaking Free, do your hubby and kids realize just what a wonderful person they have in you? I certainly hope so.
I have conquered another 'first'. I have learned to cope by not sitting around, by not falling on my sword, by getting up and putting things into action even when I have not felt like it, I have learned to hug and cry out of frustration rather than kick and scream, I have learned so much ... and you know what? It feels so good.
It's that kind of positive determination that a successful quit (not to mention life) is made of. :) Hoping your hubby gets the better job. Hi, BF. I'm sorry I missed you on IM today. I know right where your hubby is, Dani. Been there myself, more than once. Electronics can be a volitale field. Lady is right. With one exception, the door that opened for me led to an immediately better situation. That one exception started even and took a few months to be be better. What can I say, the economy was down then. At least you don't have to throw away money on cigs! Speaking of cigs, how is your hubby coping? I'd be glad to talk with him on IM or the phone if he'd like. He probably won't, but the offer's there. :) I love your attitude. You are really great! Let us know how you're doing and if we can help. And watch those typos. :8o: Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 427 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,557 Amount Saved: $1622.6 Life Gained: Days: 79 Hrs: 18 Mins: 15 Seconds: 46

BF, IM me tomorrow if you want. Real-time venting is OK. :) You probably are triggers for each other and my guess is the association is probably the strongest you have. But it will extinguish eventually. Just keep making non-smoking memories together. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 428 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,560 Amount Saved: $1626.4 Life Gained: Days: 79 Hrs: 19 Mins: 2 Seconds: 39

You are sooo smart - at 73 days, you know that smoking does not help. It just adds another stress. Life ALWAYS throws something our way - it's just that we have to find new coping mechanisms. You must be scared right now. A family of five and losing a job is worrisome. But I agree with Lady that when one door shuts, another opens. Often I look back at those "catastrophic" life experiences, and realize that they were an impetus for positive change and actually turned into a good thing. I know that this is easier said than done, but keep the faith. And congratulations for not capitulating to ole Nicodemon. How poignant that any of us can be "those people" at any time in our lives..."those people" being poor, disadvantaged, or even temporarily down on their luck. Let us all be thankful for the blessings we do have and take time to pray for and help those who need it. And no smoking along the way! Free, like Mistymoon, I have no clue as to how I've missed this thread all along. All this time, I've been admiring you for your awesome support and wisdom, and now that I see what you're dealing with....well, my admiration has quadrupled! Remember your self-talk. What would you say to someone else going through the same situation? Everything WILL work out. You know this to be true. It may not happen with the timetable you prefer, but it WILL happen. So remember to breathe, to be grateful for the small joys you receive each day, and keep your faith. Love, Rusty :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 620 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 17,372 Amount Saved: $2170 Life Gained: Days: 85 Hrs: 8 Mins: 19 Seconds: 54

BF, good for you. You are smart enough to know that smoking won't do a thing to change the situation. Better to breathe deeply, stay calm, and think clearly. Although it may not seem like it right now, everything will work out, I'm sure. Breaking! Keep up the positive attitude and it will help you through! Your right smoking will not help, it would actually hinder your family! Our thoughts are with you and we are very proud that you didn't even think to smoke through this. 73 days has done wonders for you! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
