Interesting question...the answer changes with time. Initially, I felt the biggest benefit was not having to plan where I would be at what time. The freedom you have all mentioned. Over time, we forget about that 'cause we don't have the same need.
Now, the biggest benefit is not the money, not the freedom, it's the achievement. Quitting smoking is one of the most difficult things to do in life and here we are!
The biggest benefit for me is that my daughter is growing up with non-smoking parents. Smoking is not okay in our world. Children learn by what they live with and now, my daughter's chances of being a smoker when she grows up have dwindled significantly.
