Paxil Side Effects

Yep, I had the same problems with Paxil, real spacey and it seemed like it took me a long time to think, very slow. And I got dizzy spells a lot too. I just was out of it all of the time it seemed. Almost like in a dream or something.

I hope you don't mind me posting this question here.... I have no experience with Paxil, but I was put on Prozac about a month ago, and my anxiety and panic have only gotten WORSE! Has anyone else experienced this? I've called my doctor at least five times in the last week to ask how to slowly come off of it, but he WON'T CALL ME BACK! ugh. Can anyone offer some advice? I know you aren't doctors...but I'd like to hear your opinions... Thank you! Belle

I was on paxil. It made me have dizzyness and I had to stop taking it after 3 days. I couldn't even walk. Now I am on Adavan. I only take it when I need it. 1mg a tablet. It is additive, but if you don't abuse it it seems to help me.

Thanks Georgie, Seems to be that was my experience too. I ENJOYED food and felt more hungry if I remember correctly. You are right about some saying you might lose. When I told my psychiatrist that I had gained weight, she was surprised and said it wasn't the Zoloft, if anything I would have lost. I agree with you about having your life back. That is exactly how I felt. Sometimes we have to "weigh" all the benefits against the not so good stuff. Thanks again, Bonnie

The zoloft has increased my appetite greatly and I really have to watch how I eat. Prior to taking the zoloft, I had lost 8 pounds in two weeks.... now I've gained at least 6 back, probably more. I get hungry every two hours...and food tastes just delicious. Its wierd and it scares me alittle...but other than that, the zoloft has given me my life back. Most people say that you lose weight on zoloft. Not me.. I really enjoy food now.

Uhmm... Let's see, the first week I cut down from 20mg to 10mg and this week err ive kinda forgotten to take my medicine, I kinda expected the worse, but it hasnt came yet... im sure it will.

Hi Anyone, I wasn't sure where to post this question so I will here since you are talking about meds. I took Zoloft for a long time, weaned off and have been off for about a year or more now. I gained weight those years I was on it. Has any one else experienced this? I have in the last year or so lost 15 pounds, but was taking alot of ballet classes and eating differently. I figured that MUST be it, but now to tell you the truth I am thinking, have I just forgotten? Was it really not being on Zoloft that has my weight down? I ask because I sometimes during a low moment think of going back. I also still had some anxious moments, but NEVER panicked again. Sometimes that sounds so wonderful to me to be there again, but I admit, I don't want the pounds back. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks, Bonnie

Hi I also was on paxil when my panic attacks came back it also made me feel spacey and I to could not get out of bed it also made my panic and anxiety attacks worse i had anxiety attacks for a whole weekend, and made me loose 9 pounds over that weekend. I now take zoloft to and my doctor gave me xanax to take if they get really bad but haven't really had to take them that much cause the zoloft seems to be really helping me alot, I finally feel like myself again. Hope you start feeling better to maybe you should ask your doctor about zoloft. Good luck and would like to hear how your doing with everything. Shannalo

I took Paxil for a very short time. It spaced me out totally and i couldnt get out of bed. I switched to a low dose of Zoloft and it has made all the difference to me. Supposedly this medications are not addictive so you shouldn't have a problem switching from one to another or weaning off.
