Butterfly swimmer You are awesome. I needed this double time. I am approching 100 days quit and the past 3 days I have begun to have a hard time. I so much rather be positive...and post positive for others. The part about depression when quiting smoking really hit home and I think this may be a part of my problem right now. Thank you agian. I was talking with a fellow co-worker the other day that mentioned being bored, when he didn't smoke. And that is also a big issue with me, I find myself in the bathroom window just sitting and smoking or on my front porch in the morning with a cup of coffee. So the issue you mentioned with boredom hits home with me. I recently decided to teach myself dressmaking to occupy my hands and I think it may help with my boredom issues. I can look back on the year when I didn't smoke and I was constantly moving, cleaning or spending time with my daughter, I don't think that smoking is caused by boredom, I think boredom somehow comes with the addiction of smoking, it's maybe a form of self hatred and lowlyness that symbolically creeps back into my system and manifests into my physical existance in the form of addiction.

Thank you sooooo MUCH! I am celebrating 3 weeks today. Yeah! And your post was exactly what I needed. I've used all of those excuses and had all of those same fears, etc., and you are so right, this is the quit that matters! Right here, right now. You have all helped me so much. I really never thought I would be able to quit, but I have and it's a freakin' miracle. I am just so grateful. It was my 41st birthday present to myself. Now, you can't return a birthday present, can you?! Not this one. Nothing and no one can take this away from me, but me, and that ain't happening. I used this website to the letter. I mean I did everything it suggested. And I found out there's really NOTHING in a smoke for me, anyway. It IS a lie! Whatever I thought I was "getting" from smoking was a lie. I don't believe the lie anymore. After 29 years of throwing my life away, I finally have me back and a shot at a life truly second to none. Wow, huh? Thank you, again & again!
