A New Chapter Begins!

All the best to a very special lady, enjoy. My Hubby & I are planning a trip to Niagra Falls this fall to celebrate 40 years of bliss. Haven't been there since 1968, I'm sure it's changed alot. Thought it was a nice reward also. Thanks so much everyone. I am happy to report that the new job is just awesome! I am enjoying every minute of the challenges that I am now facing. I have worked many years for this type of position. Soaring is the best work I can think of to describe how I am feeling. It is tough but I'm having fun. That is what it is all about. I have been participating in several meetings throughout the day and I don't have to leave any of them for a smoke break. Awesome! I really miss all of you. I haven't been able to check in and I really don't know what is going on with anyone. I use to read every post and now I'm out of the loop. If you are struggling, hang on tight. You will get there one step at a time. That is all that any of us can take. One at a time. Quitting is worth it. The rewards are endless and they feel oh so good! I miss all of you and will get back in here as soon as I can. The boys started school this week so I am trying to get into the swing of all of that too. I miss being around. Hope all is well. If I have missed anniversaries and milestones, please know it isn't because I don't care. I do care. Congratulations to everyone. Every day smoke free is a great day! I cannot believe that yesterday I wanted to smoke as bad as I did. I started my new job and I just have to share this with all of you. Today was AWESOME! Not only am I part of the lead team (management team), I have an administrative assistant! My day started with a managers meeting consisting of the plant lead team (me included). Every area reported, and then the mill manager told me what I will be responsible for reporting every day. My opinion was asked on a couple of issues; which I was able to present in an intelligent manner. I was off to an awesome start! The day progressed. I was taken to lunch with 5 members of this lead team and the conversation was very positive. The subject of golf came up and all of a sudden I find myself included as part of some company tournament thingy (I have no idea what you call it). This part may not be so good. I hope they have a good sense of humor. After lunch, THIS IS THE AMAZING PART I was talking with my boss (the controller). Out of no where, he told me that he quit smoking 2 weeks ago! Someone try to tell me God doesnt put us in places for a reason; go ahead, tell me. I told him about my quit and we talked about his. Of course, I just had to tell him about this site and how wonderful being quit is. I even included the part about how quitting has changed my life. So a new chapter begins in my smoke free life. I have the opportunity to reach out to yet another quitter and help them in the quit process. I am now working in the capacity I have been working towards for a long time, and I make a lot more money. Is quitting the best thing I have ever done for myself? You better believe it! I absolutely love this smoke free life. I am a positive, confident person with a bright future instead of an addict hiding from the world. Thank you so much for helping me get here. I could not have done it without all of you. Dang! What a great day, Lady. I can see that smile all the way over here! Sounds like your life has finally turned the corner for the better. I think your tickets arriving today to add to the already wonderful group of events is something of an omen. I am really happy for you. You certainly deserve all this.
