I wish I could help you but I don't have any answers. You're doing great though by expressing yourself and that in itself is a first step. Good luck and hang in there. :)

Well Shevy...you are just ruining my pity party! Your dancing man and especially the guy with the funny hat are making me giggle (just a little bit mind you!!) How do you expect me to indulge in full-fledged self-pity if you keep making me laugh! Day 12 (I think) and feeling a little lethargic and blue. I still have cravings every day but they aren't as dramatic and the first 7 days. I survived the first 7 days by staying close to the computer and spending alot of time under the covers. In fact those first few days were entirely focussed on survival. I feel like it's time to get out there and start socializing again but another part of me just feels "tired" like I don't have the energy to plan anything. I've been over to the gym, had a wonderful visit with the new kitty we are adopting and now I am home having my own little "pity party". Is ths normal? What is the next step? Marie - I think I need a little bit of that tender loving care. Gonna - I'm pretty sure that I need a good laugh too!! C'mon Windy and Gonnadoit - don't get too down. This is just the end of the two horrid weeks period. Gather your strength and give it a good try. Do something special for yourself, something you like - I dunno, eating, riding horses, bikes, painting...anything. Keep going for another couple of days. Be strong - you'll reach that two-week milestone and can take a little breather... Best wishes, Deli My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 53 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 808 Amount Saved: 159 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 8 Mins: 4 Seconds: 19

I'm in, I've had problems with depression in the past, and while this is nowhere near as bad as that was, it's still pretty annoying. I guess we'll just have to live with it until our brains fix themselves. You know, when my depression was at it's worst I had some medication from my doctor, he told me that it was a good time to quit smoking because the medication affected the part of the brain that dealt with addiction. I guess there is a corolation with addiction and depression, though to be honest I blew a two month quit a couple of weeks after I got on the meds, so I don't know how closely related they really are. (that quit was more a case of the depression causing the quit, not the quit causing the depression, so this time it's different) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 437 Amount Saved: $66.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 0 Seconds: 29

Say Windy It is good to hit the sack early and it's only temporary. Get yourself all tired first so you just nod off quickly. You and gona are getting so close, hang on. When will Phil be back? I thought he was a quit bud.

Windy, heck week and it's depression ,I cried a lot during that time, you need to reward yourself, you're fighting the good fight, of course you're tired, you're putting a lot of energy into this. If you're not ready to socialize don't, I didn't for almost a month. I'm glad you saw the kitten ,Georges will be happy when you bring him home or he will give him a good slap !!!!wait and see.Take care do something for yourself and flush the pity pot Ok. One day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 102 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,541 Amount Saved: $408 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 13 Mins: 6 Seconds: 21

Golly, Windy...I really don't have a good come back for this---probably because I feel about the same as you right now. I really have no desire to socialize either right now. Do you think we are becoming antisocial? Maybe we could start a club...? I do whatever I absolutely HAVE to do, no more, no less. I just don't really have the energy right now.... Let's pitch some blankets in the living room and pretend we are on a camp-out! We will pop popcorn, rent a sappy old movie, crawl into our sleeping bags and cry together......
