THE 500 CLUB

A lot has been going on some very good and some not so good. It is so easy to lose track of yourself during the quit process. In our quest to be free from the addiction of nicotine we can easily become attached to many different ideas and themes. People have a great need to share themselves and ideas on these boards, some great and again some not so great. You can't please everyone all the time, there are bound to be hard feelings and tempers will flare. I consider anyone who has managed to quit and stay quit for over 500 days to be a true statesman and elder. That name tag carries a very big responsibility along with it. If you want the name of elder to be attached to you please be prepared to become a true leader and ambassador of good will and hope. We are still here at the SSC for one reason or another. I know a lot of us still try to post things that will help the new quitters and also post greetings to the new arrivals. This is by no means an easy thing to do, yes our feelings get hurt when one of these posts gets run over by this or that and our messages go by the way side with only a casual glance at them. It seems the new quitters are mindless and without any direction, just pure panic of the quit over riding their good senses. I am continually surprised when one of my very old posts gets brought back to life by a newcommer. People searching for answers and finding old treasures that were posted long ago with care and love. There must be a message somewhere in this post but I'll be darn if I can remember what it is........hum. Ok that is an advantage of a senior elder.......help me out here someone. Please add your thoughts to this thread. Well gang I'm back from building the new VIP Club and it is a beauty. I have to think hard on this as I may need to remodel a bit here at the 500 Club. But then the costs of construction are just too much. Ok the 2 year club will be a spectacular for TV we will just have to live with these existing conditions. I really think that we as elders need to revisit the new quitters and offer them more encouragement. The Century Club got away from its stated purpose but I believe it is now back on track. the 6-12 Club seems to suffer from inactivity this may be due to vacations etc. Please keep a closer eye out for those needing help, I know a lot of you do but we all need to be vigilant in our quest to remain smoke free.
