Pam, one thing I must disagree with you on. Smoking does NOT dull the pain. When my parents died, smoking did not dull that pain. When my now-dead alcoholic ex-husband slammed my hand in the refrigerator door, smoking did not dull that pain. Smoking doesn't even dull the little melancholy feelings we all have every day. That is a junkie lie. Sorry. But it is. Your junkie side is trying to tell you that you will feel better if you smoke. Please don't buy that lie. If you are having such pain that you are wanting to use drugs, then use real drugs. Go get some anti-depressants or some counseling. If you don't want to feel anything anymore, then your problems are bigger than wanting to smoke. Please get some help. Rusty

Wow, 160 Days is awesome! You are well equipped Sunshine to make it through this and you'll be more resilient as a result. Have you been rewarding yourself along the way? Maybe it's time to reward yourself again? Shiny things do wonders to distract and encourage!! Dear Butterfly, You are hurting so badly right now, I can almost feel it! This can happen to anyone, and at any stage of a quit. I'm so glad you made that promise and I hope and pray you will be helped by the responses here. I suspect you will also struggle through this stage....for this is what it is.....and grow and learn from it! To have reached 160 days quit has taken strength of purpose, mind and spirit. You simply have to deny the Nicodemon yet again. I know it sounds so simple and yet is so difficult, but you have done it before and can do it again. Right now you are allowing the Nicodemon the privilege of entering your mind. He does not deserve this honour, as you are so much better than that. Deny him that and you will beat him. I think you wrote the post because you know all this and just need some support right now. We all did at some time....yours is now....stay strong and fight for your life!!! ((((HUGS)))) Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 497 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 17,418 Amount Saved: 2485 Life Gained: Days: 69 Hrs: 5 Mins: 50 Seconds: 27
