Congratulations Penquin and welcome to the SSC. Be sure to work the program tools to the left. They will help you develop a plan for when the cravings hit. These boards are full of a lot of usefull information. Take advantage of them and learn all you can about the quit process. Remember to take a lot of deep breaths and drink lots of water. Take it one day at a time, one step at a time and you will be just fine. Welcome home my friend. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 296 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,938 Amount Saved: $1036 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 3 Mins: 57 Seconds: 32

YEAH PENGUIN!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you're back!!!!!! I found that to be true for me too about leaving the SSC... whenever I'm away for a few days, I tend to get a little side tracked from the goal of staying quit... one of my 3 mistakes happened when I was away for a while. That made me realize that I too needed the site more than I thought I did. I'm glad you've realized this and are back to your quit and will stick closer to the site now! Welcome back! We're here to help you any way we can! Crave the Quit! I have decided to start my "new" quit tomorrow...forgetting about the old one...it is too far gone now to be continued. I have realized that I definately want to be FREE. I had a small taste and I want it again, only this time forever OR 5 minutes at a time 1 hour at a time 1 day at a time 1 week at a time 1 month at a time.... Someone pointed out to me that I had stopped posting before my first slip. Yes Sheila you were right...I had. I felt I was strong enough to back away from the SCC, but what I didn't know was that it was because of the SCC that I was winning. So I will be around for as long as it takes. It will be hard but it is doable!!!! I've got what it takes to quit and I am going to learn what it takes to stay quit. NOPE

Ok Everyone. I am here, but today is Day #1 again. I made commitments and broke them again earlier in the week. But with the help of Sheila and some of Lady's broom strokes, I know I have back what I was looking for....determination. Yes Lady, I left all sources of payment engagement at home today. It turns out that one of the surgeons was ill today, so I have the day off. I went and picked up my son from daycare (I sent him there ill) and I have just been lying on the couch resting my eyes, since they seem to be going a little bugeyed. I am determined to see this day through. I will worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. I think I'll leave the money home then too. Will still check in at our agreed upon time when I get home from meeting Lady. Thanks Sheila, Thanks Lady. Something clicked for me last night. I feel strong and in control today, not wishwashy like the last month.
