EWWWWWW That Smell....

:) Hi again CS~ Depending on your families temperment, telling them they stink could be harmful to your health~lol Our senses certainly are intensified after we quit. I tend to think the smell is worse for ex-smokers than never smokers. My 9 year old told me he didn't mind the smell too much. I was shocked because I was surprised just 'how bad' the aroma is 'after' I quit. Everything taste great and many things smell nass-TEE! I've never heard of the smell being anything more than uncomfortable though. My suggestion is: FREEBREEZE in the super saver value size ;) ~all the best 2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 185 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,091 Amount Saved: $925 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 15 Mins: 38 Seconds: 57

HI Chickenstix, I have noticed the smell too. I still can't believe that I smelled that bad. Everytime I smell a smoker I feel like gagging and some are worse than others. I had a couple come in the store where I work and the smell was more than I could stand. I work in a ladies store and the clothes that people return sometimes with the smell is unbelievable, but I know they can't smell it. We have to hang them in the back till they air out :gasp: I am with N2k, I dont think I would tell people though. I know when I was a smoker I wouldnt have appreciated it one bit!!! My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 307 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,147 Amount Saved: $2302.5 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 4 Mins: 34 Seconds: 29

second hand smoke is one thing.....but thinking that the stale smoke smell that clings to smokers is dangerous is just silly in my book.......they stink for sure, but I don't believe that will hurt YOU. You know as a smoker, that you don't smell it....now you realize what non smokers put up with. I drove a smokers car the other day just to run an errand.....it was full of air freshners and this gal is a clean freak....but that vehicle smelled horrid.......no way around it....freshners or no...it smelled horrid.....I thank my lucky star that smoking is in my PAST! Your nose over-reacts to the stench when you first quit.....later it gets back to getting things in perspective.....stale smoke is always gonna stink, but not like it does to a new quitter. Give your nose time to adjust Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1510 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60,432 Amount Saved: $8305 Life Gained: Days: 197 Hrs: 1 Mins: 32 Seconds: 17

Chicken, No matter how you say it..it is bad for you! The toxins in second hand smoke are not something you want to be inhaling everyday. Your sense of smell is now heightened and you will notice this wherever smokers are. Concentrate on your quit and praise the benefits out loud. The reception may not be positive, but your health will be :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
