Day 9 and Crying

I am glad to hear your feeling better. Day 3 was my "crying" day but since that day it has gotten better and better. Just remember to pamper and take care of you, and hang on to that wonderful hubby :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 290 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,807 Amount Saved: $2175 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 23 Mins: 18 Seconds: 13

If you are at 200 days and miserable, it's good to know that it's not always such a drastic thing.....but.....if you are only past a week and read that, it CAN seem like a drastic thing. don't project yourself ahead and into difficult times. If most of us are honest, thing only get better. Yes, we have bad days....but we had bad days when we were smoking! We just tend to forget and blame quitting with ALL our woes. it simply isn't true. what you are feeling at this point in time is perfectly normal....the blues can really set in and make us miserable. It's that ole business about feeling like we have LOST something invaluable. This addiction is NOTORIOUS for making us feel that way! you stand up...stretch tall....breath deep....take hold of my hands and repeat after me. "my so called "friend" is a killer....My REAL friend is freedom.....the ability to CHOOSE what I will do.....and my choice at this time is to not smoke." THEN.....you turn your back on thinking about smoking and you turn this "jamie day" into a reward. yes by gum, you DESERVE this day in your jamies....with maybe a cinnamon roll?....a flavored hot drink?....a good book?.....a couple of new movie rentals? (send hub to get them) We call this the REWARD SYSTEM.....and yes, you DO deserve them.....every time you feel down and out over this, you reward yourself.....you do lots of instant ones and you have bigger ones planned for certain milestones.....this rewarding gives you a reason to 'move' forward and to also 'think' forward don't dwell in the future and avoid thinking about the past.....deal with right now....and right now is simply how you 'choose to do things at the present'.. here's a hug for today {{{{{hug}}}}}....now you ENJOY the rest of this day....be GOOD to yourself.....you are SO SO worth it! katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1492 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 59,695 Amount Saved: $8206 Life Gained: Days: 194 Hrs: 15 Mins: 49 Seconds: 42
