Our hearts are breaking with you. This is terrible news. Don't give up. Maybe somehow he will eventually see the light. Sorry you have to go through that. Dear Lady, Another excellent reason to quit. I'm so sorry your dad can't see his way to quitting. You know, Duffis quit in his 70s and Nan quit after smoking for 60 years! People, remember this post the next time you're thinking about smoking "just one". Don't be the person who makes their loved ones sit typing with tears streaming down their face. Be the one they're proud of, the one who quit after 20 or 30 or 40 years. You can do it. You really can. Not cravin', never cavin'. ~handing you a tissue~ Come lean your head on my shoulder, Lady. You've come a long way and you've helped alot of people in here. Keep in mind that by the time we've reached this site, we've already decided that we didn't like the effects smoking had on us. Reaching out to someone that hasn't yet made that decision is even harder. All you can do is plant the seed and give it some water occasionally, hopefully you'll get to see it grow. Enjoy the time with your Dad as best you can. I lived too far from my parents to spend time with them. You are doing what you can do, Lady. You are showing your father and your children that it can be done. It may not "take" on your dad, but it will on your children. I'm sorry for your pain.
