Lady - BREATHE IN....BREATHE OUT BREATHE IN....BREATHE OUT Remember?? Go to Stubow's recent thread about having a tough time. Butterfly Swimmer found Duffis's old post about how you feel after that quit-breaking smoke. Read it, and read it again. After this long, after being a mentor to so many, after working SO hard, having that cigarette now would hurt SO MUCH. Not when you smoked it, but try to picture how you'd feel after you put it out. I know how proud you are of this quit, and how much it means to you to help others on this site. Don't let that junkie-talk in your head convince you that anything else is true. Go back to those coping skills you had to develop in week one. Whatever you do, just don't put nicotine in any form in your system. You will curse yourself to starting over. I'm doing that now, and it SUCKS in ways I can't even articulate. (No sleep here lately, and last night I cooked and fully ate a meal for a family of four. Trust me, it sucks here, don't come visit!) Tie a knot in the end of that rope and just hold on tight. Nets are going up under the rope as quickly as we can string them up. While you're holding on to the end of that rope, dozens of hands are reaching down and grabbing your wrist in case your hands get tired. HOLD ON LADY--THIS FEELING WILL NOT LAST, BUT THE FREEDOM YOU'VE WORKED SO HARD FOR WILL.

Lady, Glad to hear it was a thought and not an action. You are allowed to think about smoking all you want. You just cant smoke. You can think about how: It makes you stink Kills you slowly Wastes your hard earned money Rules where you go and how long you can stay Saps your energy Makes you cough Hurts you children Or, you can keep your quit (which, of course, I know you will) and be more healthy, wealthy, and wise. Your choice. Make it the right choice. Hi Lady! Sorry I'm not there to chat with you. I'm sitting in my hotel lobby using their computer and just wanted to check in. I do hope with all my heart that your week gets better each hour and each day. I want to share this with you. In my morning reading material, it said this today: [color=red} We may be facing new experiences in life, or circumstances may be changing all around us. We can listen within and perceive an answer and, aligning our thoughts, we are prepared for any kind of change. Through our prayer times and our meditative listening, we develop the ability to know what is ours to accomplish, and we exercise our ability to release the rest to God. All is in divine order.[/color} I hope this helps. Talk to you Friday! Lady...Here is my hand and I will help pull you up....I know life just gets to us all sometimes and the old smoking thoughts creep up out of nowhere. That damn cig is nothing but chemicals wrapped up in paper...And you know in your heart that if you did smoke one that it would not be what your mind is telling you right now.....I will be wishing you quick relief.....Shirl My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 184 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,696 Amount Saved: $691.84 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 19 Mins: 2 Seconds: 17

Lady, I got two hands so grab on! But know that I will hoist you over to the positive side. The grass is green here and you just have to reach out and touch it :) Take some time for yourself and relax. Read a book,do some stretches, get a pedicure and let go all of those nasty thoughts. I am not letting go of you now... Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
