Just for the record... I was really torn in how to respond to this thread between pleading with you not to give up and the way I did respond. But I know that quitting comes from within. You have to believe in yourself and your desire to quit must outweight your desire to smoke. It breaks my heart to see you in such a delima but I know where you are coming from. Hurry back....tomorrow would be nice. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 264 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,291 Amount Saved: $924 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 7 Mins: 33 Seconds: 58

Hello Jan. I really don't know what to say. I feel as if maybe I have failed you in some way. This is one of those times I find myself reflecting on maybe I should have said this or should have said that and maybe this would have helped and maybe that would have helped. I know how much you have struggled with this quit. I know you desire to be free. Do not give up on yourself. It all comes from within you. You do possess the strength necessary to win this battle, you just don't know it yet. You know that smoking will kill you if you continue. You also know how to reach all of us. Your Yahoo buddies are still there whether you smoke or not. The friendships that are formed here and the things we have been through together do not end because of a lost battle to the nicodemon. I have no doubt that you will be back stronger and better than before. More prepared and ready to battle the addiction again. You will triumph and emerge a non smoker and I will celebrate with you when that day comes. Keep reading posts to keep the quitting forefront in your mind. Keep in touch through yahoo and email and let me know how you are doing. I'm setting my broom to the side. JAN!!!!!!!! I go away for a couple of days to relax and THIS is the first post I read!?!?!?!?! What is wrong with you?!?!?!? No, I am not allowing you to take a break and go back to smoking for a little while. I KNOW how those "little whiles" turn into months, or even years!!! This is your LIFE we're talking about here!!!!! Think about Aimee for a second! Think about how this is going to affect her! I'm sure she'd much rather have a grumpy mother than a dead one!!!!! Do you really want to do that to her????? I know for a fact you don't!!! News flash honey: Quittin' ain't easy! But when it's your LIFE we're talking about, it's most certainly worth it! I know where you are... I've been there! Remember? Remember in October when I had 7 cigarettes and convinced myself that I should go back to smoking for "one month" until I could have the "perfect quit date?" Do you remember what you said to me??? I do:
pam!!!!!!!!!what you doin girl??????? you sliped ,dont make it any harder for yourself dont ever give up giveing up.it may mean something to you but in a months time you could be a month smoke free and feeling good again ,whos to say in a month you would be ready ,something else may come up to put you off. old nick has got a hold on you girl shake him off and run like hell!!!!
Good advice, don't you think? Crave the Quit! Hi Jan, sry to hear the news :( Quote for today... Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. - Ralph Waldo Emerson When I started seriously asking GOD to help me to quit smoking, he did :) Have u asked him for help? Don't beat yourself up. You're an addict. We're all here to help you as soon as you're ready to help yourself again :) You had a good practice run :) Remember how good it felt to be a non-smoker. When you're ready to stop making excuses and help yourself again, get your sweet self back in here so we can help. No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... Girl I know you through Duffis, he has spoken very highly of you. Crap happens and I can tell you I personally busted 2 good quits. Now having said that the 5 months quit looked good on paper but I was not a happy camper. I was pleasing everyone but myself so I know the hell you went and are going through. I have started a new quit but this time it is for me ME ME not Duffis or God or anyone just me. I will quit this time, I know it deep down inside me. When you are ready, and not until, you will know. You have had the trials and some good experiences so when you are ready it will be easy. I will keep you in my thoughts and please smile it's not the end of the world. :) Roxanne My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,134 Amount Saved: $129.5 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 22 Mins: 18 Seconds: 48

bogbott, we haven't "talked" a whole lot. But I have watched you and have enjoyed your being around. I just want you to know that as hard as it is to see someone stall on their quit, there are some that it just makes me want to cry. I think you need to hurry and find your way back on track. We'll be here to help. Take some time to do your soul-searching, but not too mush time, okay?
