Living Alone

The "L" in HALT is also the worst trigger for me too. I moved a few months ago from a place where I had lots of friends to a place where I don't know anybody hardly. I too have a hard time with the lonliness. It's nice to know it's not just me. Crave the Quit! Well, when you two figure it out, you both need to let me know, okay? I was an idiot this weekend. Went on my first date since the accident, and it was bad idea. Too soon. Wound up with me crying and him trying to calm me down and me apologizing that I'd made a mistake and tried to do something I wasn't ready for yet. Mortifying...and imagaine how bad HE felt. And...even worse, I smoked. So...you guys tell me the solution when you figure it out. And I will get my head srewed on straight and start again... Hi Diditagain, My best friends husband died when we were in our early 40s. She also raised her 2 children alone. Eventually, she made a list of all the things she really enjoyed doing. She then looked for groups related to those areas. After joining a local kayaking group, a gardening club, and a hiking group, she met tons of people both male and female who were interested in the same things she is. FYI: She met the love of her life last year and is obnoxiously happy LOL. Good luck and remember youll have MUCH more success as a non-smoker. No one wants to kiss an ashtray. :p Not cravin', never cavin'. did, Thank you for sharing your story. You need to be comfortable with your quit before you start putting yourself into dangerous situations. If you are ok with going to a smoke filled area and can master the craves then do so. Take time to make yourself happy, write a list of rewards just for you. Perhaps working out or joining a team would help you meet others and the exercise would keep those cravings far. Take it easy, it will come. Protect your quit, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
