dswill,
Fear not, many members have had this same experience around this time of their quit.
Stay strong, you can do this. If your coping mechanisms are not working, try doing something different. Remember to divert your attention. Focus on something other than a cigarette.
Stay strong,
Melanie

Hey Shelly,
I was so glad that you made it threw those couple of hard days. I thought of another reward that I have started. I go grocery shopping every friday. Since my quit I started buying myself a bouquet of flowers. Its less than a pack of smokes. Over easter they had some beautiful bouquets. This week I picked up some purple tulips. Just another Idea for ya.

Hang on Shelly
Im having a hard weekend also. I posted earlier today also. It must be just that time to go threw it. You won't lose it. Go read your post on how to deal with cravings and withdraws. I look at that all the time.
Hang tough, I know you can do it. Do some deep breathing or take a nap. That is what works the best for me.
Keep in mind it's just that darn nicodemon trying to take away our quit after we have made it this far with not many bumps in the road.
I will be breathing with you

Hey Shelly,
Rewards are hard for me also. I usally don't treat myself. I have done a few things.
1.Biggest reward is taking time for myself without kids
2. I took my kids to a photo shot and had a blast
3. Today we are getting a sitter and going to the dollar movies
4. Next weekend for my 1 month, I asked my hubby to take me out to dinner to some place we have never went. Didn't have to be expensive just somthing different and rememberable.
Im trying to save money so my rewards are not big. Even if you reward yourself to a long hot bath. Just tell yourself its your reward or treat and your brain will treat it as one.

Hi Fellow Shamrock Shelly,
Hope things get better for you soon. Everyone has those days where that "taste in your mouth" for me it's a metallic watering type. It's weird! Rewards can be small things like - hey don't clean the bathrooms or run the vacuum - go read your book or sit outside and admire your hard work on the flower beds and yard work. Make some fresh lemonade for yourself. Your quit is awesome, protect it with all you've got for YOU!!!!!!! All my best to you -

Hey Shelly...
Hope today is going better for you. You know as well as I do some days can and will be rough. Listen to your heart, all the reasons you quit are in there.
Send emails... use the IM. Whatever it takes.

Shelly- just hang in there. This is so normal; and while it is so hard, please believe me that you can make it through this. Be grateful for days where you don't crave, but when you do crave, just let it happen and it will pass.
Just don't smoke....it won't solve anything except to ruin a beautiful quit.

Hi Everyone,
Im hanging in there AlleyAnn. Over the weekend, we planted a new backyard, garden and a couple flowerbeds. So I have been outside watering them. Got that done. I started thinking. For me it seems like the more I do the more I want a CIG. Like the first 2 weeks I did not much at all, just laid around and took a lot of Naps and now that Im busier the worse it is getting. Does anyone else feel that way?
Another thought I had, is I dont know if I treat myself enough? I went out for pizza on my 7th day of my quit, but that is about all. Im not use to treating myself, (I worry more about everyone else) and I really dont have many treat ideas. I know at 60 or 90 Days I want to go down to Calif. and visit my son for a week. Maybe a treat would help? Just cannot think of one?
~Shelly~
