Congrats on week 1, it sounds like you are doing great. I'm on day 2 and feel pretty good. Love this support group and the quit meter. Let me know how week 2 goes..

I'm a little edgy today. Very nervous it seems. I'm busy at work so it's not like I had time to think about things. I decided to take the family out for dinner tonight. Just because I told them. I have been drinking lot's of coffee. I quit cold turkey you see. No substitute. This is the first time I haven't tried with gum, inhaler or patch. It seems easier for some reason. Maybe my body is just cleaning out from all the toxins. I'm hanging in there. Wow Guy's, that walk did help me. I stopped at the library accross the street and took out a book I have been wanting to read. I also made plans with a friend to meet for lunch. I will make it. I know I will. I just hope that Friday won't be too hard. You see I don't work fridays and the kids are at school and hubby is at work. I use to smoke the most (outside) on Fridays. Last week the kids were home on a PD day so I found it easier not to smoke. Wish me luck. Well, I made it so far. I could have smoked on Friday, I was home alone all day. Instead I decided to cook. I made home made soup, prepared supper and baked. I was busy all day. Sunday, I went for a nap in the afternoon and that took over 2 hours of not thinking of cigs. I went for a walk with my husband and watched a movie with family. I did it. Usually I would have found a way to go for a walk by myself and smoke, send my hubby shopping with kids or just snuck out of the house. Not this weekend. It feels great. I find it easier at work for some reason. You would think it harder because most of the people I work with smoke. I am finding my clothe don't smell as well as my hair. You see my husband and family think I quit years ago. I have been feeling pretty bad about having to sneak around. I was always showering when I got home from work. I would blame the smell on hanging out with smokers. How pathetic is that. No more, it feels good this morning to say I did it.

Doesn't it feel great? The not sneaking around, not lying, no longer having to wonder when you will be caught, not worrying about when you will get your next fix? Congrats......keep going.......you can do this - you already have! That's great H. Doesn't it feel good not to lie? I did it myself a few yrs ago after I "quit". It really can do a number on your self worth, lying to your family like that. No more of that for us. YIPEEE! The H can now stand for Honesty. Sometimes just "getting" through the day may be all we can hold on to. All of us Newbies probably have each day numbered and engraved in our brain....for me day 6 was bad and day 9 & 10 were just beyond horrible and then yesterday things eased up a bit and then low and behold I have actually smiled today!!! Hang in there you can do this and YOU know it!!! H, i also hid my smoking from my family, although i think they probably guessed and just didnt say anything. I hated lying but most of all, i hated planning my day around these lies. I would avoid situations if i felt i wouldnt be able to sneak in a smoke or two. Now i am free once again and i pray i will continue to be so. It feels great!!! Keep up the good work :) and keep posting.
