Finding relief with Zoloft

That's great to hear northraven,

Medication can be such a huge help. But it is a temporary fix. It relieves the symptoms but only treatment can help to address the underlying problem. Now that you are feeling a bit better I encourage you to work on the program. Do the homework and put the hard work in and you will notice a difference soon. Have you had a chance to check out  the program yet?

So it has been a long and hard couple of months. Anxiety and depression (a life long struggle) crept up on me and wreaked havoc with my live for a while starting in the fall last year. After many trips to my family doctor, seeking out support from my friends and family, and going through a trial and error process with medication I am starting to see some changes!

I am on daily Zoloft (Sertraline) at 100mg that seems to be making a world of difference in the levels of anxiety and depression. I haven't had a full-on anxiety attack in a couple of weeks. Still some anxious moments during the day, they are way easier to handle now.

I am struggling a bit with tummy issues and not having much of an appetite (side effects and normal digestive issues), and the insomnia and nighttime anxiety is still a problem. Lorazepam (Ativan) at 1mg and Zopiclone (Imovane) at 7.5mg are helping with that, and I am finding I need the Lorazepam less and less each week.

I have to admit when I first started down this journey into anti-depressants I was very skeptical and resistant to the idea it could help. Some of it was stigma I attached to the idea of taking medication and some of it was self-defeating ideas that are normal with anxiety and depression. I am so glad I was wrong!

For me, this has been a really good step in feeling healthy and whole again. Pieces of my life are starting to come back together, things long left to the wayside for quite a while. It feels good to feel happy and hopeful.

I hope for those who are struggling as well that you too find the solace you need soon:)
