That's it! I've been trying to figure out what it is I'm feeling, and that's the answer - nothing. Or nearly so.

This is what I find so strange and disturbing about depression - I  experience things I know should make me happy, or sad, or angry, but they don't. I can think about what I'm supposed to feel, but I don't feel what I'm supposed to feel.

It's like being an actor - I go through all the actions, but I don't feel the emotions of the character I'm portraying. Except the character is me.
