Effects of Massage Therapy on Stress

13 years ago 0 1044 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well, totally awesome!!!!!!  I used to have a massage therapist come to my home, set up his table and I was almost to the point I was going to buy a massage table so he could leave me laying there after it was time for him to go.  Unfortunately due to health reasons he quit that and around here, no one else does it.

I try to go on a regular basis and absolutely love it.  An hour session is well worth the money and I deserve it!  Around here for full body massage (1 hour) is $50.00.  I hear that is cheap compared to most places.

Hi sally0,

A massage school is definitely worth looking into. The students would likely do massages for lower prices. Check it out, it's worth a shot!

Members, how has your experience with massage been?

I did have a nice 1 hour massage, some kind of deep tissue one, a few months ago. I felt much, much better after it for the whole evening, but by the next day, I was back to where I was before. I have a feeling that it would be very beneficial if I could get regular massages, but the cost is prohibitive.

Maybe a massage school would have more affordable massages? I need to look into alternatives.

Members,

Our focus in recent weeks has been on stress management. The positive effects of massage therapy have been widely studied in children, adults & older adults. The listed benefits from head to toe include:

-    Decreased incidence of headaches related to tension.
-    Improved mood, decreased anxiety. Children with autism showed a decrease in problem behaviors.
-    Improved circulation & decreased blood pressure. In surgical patients, faster healing & recovery rates were noted.
-    Better posture, decrease muscle tension, joint pain, range of motion. In pregnant women it helps alleviate discomfort.
-    Better sleeping patterns in babies, children & adults.

Have any members found this therapy beneficial?
