Hi Phoenix,

You know what my dog's name was Phoenix actually.... :) We had to put him down a few months ago, but he was a pretty cool pup.

Anyway, welcome to the site. The program here is really helpful! It really does help, it's structured and really informative. There is a lot of info to take in, so take the time you need to do the work. Try not to anticipate or expect a "bad turn", personally I find that guarantees that I will have one. Try working towards a positive place where your confidence and self-efficacy is so high you can attack life full force.

Cool avatar by the way, is that some sort of phoenix?

Nice to meet you.. looking forward to hearing more from ya!

Hello Phoenix1016,

Welcome to our online support community, you have come to the right place to receive knowledge, support and encouragement.

Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLBOX" you will find many a depression tests.  This test is not a diagnostic tool and is not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of the test is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Depression Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

To add an avatar to your profile go into "support group options", you will find this at the right hand side of the page.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support. Looking forward to hearing more from you!

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the group (joined yesterday) and am excited about taking a positive step forward. I am a repeat performer in the depression cycle. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder tends to facilitate this cycle. At this point I am doing pretty well but know that as sure as the seasons spin I will be back in a "bad place" again eventually. During my last bout with a major depressive cycle I was off work for 3 months and was directed to a depression support group which was based in the cognitive behavior model as well. I was finding it a positive influence, but my return to work made continued attendance impossible. My return to work has hit the smoothed out phase and keeping a promise to myself that I would take some proactive steps to arm myself against the return of the dark times, yesterday I was searching the net for a depression diary and stumbled upon this site. I immediately recognized the similarities between this program and the one I had been attending through my local hospital and leaped aboard immediately.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and to developing a success strategy for managing the depression and anxiety monsters in my life.

I did have a couple of questions. First of all, I saw the sample activity log form but have not been able to find a downloadable one for my own use. Second, I would love to put up an "avatar" as some others have but again, I'm failing to find how to do that.

Namaste
