Feeling overwhelmed

Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.  

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Depression Centre Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.  

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@depressioncenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Depression Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.
Holidays can be a very stressful time of year. Are there any relaxation activities that you enjoy?

Thank you for your responses...it's nice to know someone understands the overwhelmed part of depression.  It's funny, sometimes I fell like I'm sitting on a fence and  feel I'm teetering more to one side than the other, today, I can really feel myself teetering towards being sad and I'm trying my darnest to stay in the middle, staying calm.  Everything seems to be an effort.  I guess you have to try and find the trigger to this part of the depression, and here I thought I had conquored it the last time I was here, ugh.  Did I mention I was a perfectionist...yes being overwhelmed and being a perfectionist, I think go hand in hand...tomorrow will be a better day!!!  Thanks again, it's very much appreciated.

hi maggie, i think you're right to start again at the beginning and keep a slow but steady pace, that is my ny resolution. i've been bouncing around too much. we were just talking about people using this site for different reasons a few weeks ago. it's very interesting to me cause there are so many many different reasons....for everything there is a season, i guess. welcome back - hope you post often "It's funny how there are stages in depression, you deal with one part of it and then there's another level of it you need to deal with.  It's interesting, but very frustrating.  I find I get very overwhelmed easily, therefore I totally pysch myself out, become "bummed", and then I don't do anything which of course, leads to depression." i couldn't have said it better and so true!

Welcome back,  though I hate to hear that the depression/overwhelming feelings have returned.
Yes, it makes perfect sense.  There is a lot of stress that comes naturally with the holidays and add to that a major task such as preparing and hosting a family gathering can add additional stress.  I understand the "not motivated to do anything" when I feel overwhelmed, I don't have any motivation either.  
 
It's great to hear that the success of the program and that when things start to happen after a period of "remission" you can recognize it!

Hi there, I'm relatively new to this site, I had been on it years ago, what a great site.  I find now that I'm here for different reasons.  It's funny how there are stages in depression, you deal with one part of it and then there's another level of it you need to deal with.  It's interesting, but very frustrating.  I find I get very overwhelmed easily, therefore I totally pysch myself out, become "bummed", and then I don't do anything which of course, leads to depression.  This Christmas, I decided to host dinner, and everyone decided to come home (which is nice, don't get me wrong), but I found I wasn't checking to make sure I had enough dishes, cutlery, I was baking the day of, we were shopping days before...I just found myself out of control, therefore becoming more depressed and not wanting to do anything.  Everything went ok, but I'm glad that it's done.  Does this make sense???
