Sheba,   Try keeping a note pad with you and when you have ideas write them down right away. To help with motivation, try to break your papers down into smaller portions or milestones and set some deadlines for yourself. When you reach a milestone, make sure you are taking a break and rewarding yourself.
Members, has this feeling ever happened to you? If so, how have you been able to overcome it?

I think it is part of depression, I have difficulty with focus and concentration - finding words when talking - knowing they are part of my vocabulary.  I also know how to do things but I've forgotten how.  I'm a bit scatter-brained in staying on task and losing things.  I find it very difficult to read and comprehend.  It's like all that education - out the window!  However, I know it is still there and am thankful that I have the potential to retrieve it one day.  Hang in there!  There is hope and I do believe I've gotten better over time!

I know is strange but when I'm not relaxed my brain seems just switched off. I should try to write two papers this month but I really can't start. I feel like my head is simply refusing to think. It is like all the work I've done in the past year is completely lost or never existed.
