doesn't this simple contact make you feel GOOD? almost a child-like happiness; no strings attached

Actually yes, just two days ago. I went out for my daily walk and a woman on the other side of the street smiled and waved to me. At first I thought maybe she thinks I'm someone else. But she crossed the street and mentioned what beautiful mild weather we were having for January. We stood around chatting for a bit, wished each other well, and off we went. During the rest of my walk, my mood had changed completely. I kept thinking what a nice person, and how nice it felt coming from a complete stranger! I made a mental note that I will have to pass this on one day to someone else.

has anyone else had a moment like this? you know, a smile a thank you for a seat in the bus... a little minute where someone else appreciated you for a little simple thing.

I think we tend to judge ourselves too much. Instead of appreciating our qualities/talents that we have, we always try harder to immprove them, or if we are really feeling down and low, we don't see them at all. It is nice to have people who we don't really know point out our certain qualities once and a while, just to remind us that they are really there!

I got a ride to work today with one of the girls who knows me less and a friend... We were talking about winning a lottery. I would open a coffee / book shop. the girl said I was the teacher type and would so right for the part. Calm, serene, knowledgeable. Then we were talking about the friend's nefew who is addicted to coffee at 17... so I spout something about bone mass and cafine hampering calcum absoprtion... and the girl says that it is great talking to me. I have a dictionary packed away in my mind and it's fun to listen to me... then the frien says that I am calming and very helpful. wow. I know the anxiete driven spirit that bounces around inside this body, but I rarely have people tell me how they see me. I sometimes assume that everyone see a void, blank spot and are on the verge of discovering this horrible person in their midst. It is all linked to lots of the negatives with which I define myself. So it is nice to have people TELL me what shows. :)
