Hi Wildcat, Well had a meeting with my son and daughter and husband. My Son wants them all to find out about my depression and help so that has made me feel a bit more positive. Hope its not all talk and no action. Went to bed very late, 3am, just couldnt switch off no matter what I did. This has left me irritable and tired today but have to get organised for my "pleasant activity" tomorrow, something I always do with no planning when well, but now I cant just whizz around at 90 miles per hour as before. Am trying hard with the homework and know it has to be done but it also seems another chore to try to deal with. keep forgetting to fill in the mood sheets also. Feel for you that you have young kids to deal with, Still on a more positive thought, you are not allowed to wallow as you have to care for them no matter how horrible you are feeling which could be a good thing? Belive me you will miss the funny little stories etc when they are grown. Good luck with the homework, let me know how you'r doing.x

Hi Gabs, How were / are your efforts? Which of the exercises helped? I seem to have gone off rythem these past 2 1/2 weeks and I keep going to bed later and later... Which makes to difficult to be up the next am for kiddie showers and breakfasts, and the little chicken pecking to choose my daughters chothes for daycare... don't ask.. She has this rhyme to sing that helps her choose when all is a whirl... With 6 hours andd less of sleep and too much stress I want to cook that plunp chicken and... never mind. I will try the reading in pyjamas. I bought a little book recently that is great... it is simply boring. There is a little positive phrase (2/3 of the phrases are not from these great people with great minds just from the author) and there is a short paragraph of reflections. The last sentence is a "today i will... end world hunger and achieve everlasting peace... Boring, pretensious, but better than worring about my work and the work of the two who will not be in tomorrow!

Gabs, Of course you're crying! You're not sleeping and a lack of sleep will make anybody emotional. Hang in there, make your tea, take a few deep breaths and keep us posted. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

The tears wont stop. Theres someone out there to help. I really am a crazy woman, crying at nice things. thanks for being there. Will make some tea, try to calm myself.

Gabs, Here are a few tips for getting into a good sleep schedule: •Try to get on a sleep schedule. Go to bed at a regular time each night and get up at a regular time in the morning. Try to not stay up late watching TV and try not to sleep during the day. If you get on a sleep schedule, we guarantee that you’ll begin to feel better. •Try to make the room you sleep in as quiet as possible. Consider ear plugs or a sleep mask. •Use your bed only for sleeping. Don’t lounge around in your bed. If you spend too much time lounging in bed, watching T.V., drinking coffee, or eating, your body will learn that your bed is NOT a place for sleeping. •If you can’t sleep after half an hour in bed don’t stay in bed trying to sleep. Get up and do some quiet activity. For example, read a book for a half hour and then try going back to bed. If you still can’t sleep, get up and do something quiet once again. •Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature - not too cold and not too hot. •Try to get some exercise every day. You’ll feel better and sleep will come much quicker. •Try not to exercise or work hard late in the evening. It could make you feel ‘wired’. •Don’t drink anything with caffeine or alcohol for 4 hours before you go to bed. •Try not to eat a heavy meal in the evening. Don’t eat just before you go to bed. •If you’re not sleeping at night, avoid naps during the day. •Use relaxation techniques. Box breathing may help you relax at bed time. Hope this helps. The sleep just wont come. I feel dead on my feet. Every muscle is screaming at the tension, my skin feels as though something is crawling around on it. Cold sweats, panic. my breathing is so shallow i have to remind myself to take a large breath. I hate this, just hate it all. The desperation. Its all hell. I just want to sleep. Only the computer for company.
