Hi mlmy32,
I'm a new member who was touched by your posted comment. It sounds like you are having a difficult time right now and it must be even more overwhelming raising a son with ODD. How are you getting through your difficult times?
Although, I don't have children of my own yet I think you and I may have some things in common.
I too feel very isolated from others and have difficulties in social situations. My enthusiasm and passion for things in life have significantly dimenished over that past couple of years. I'm angry because I don't want to be this way anymore!
Maybe we can help each other on this journey. I've found by coming to the depression center there is hope and people understand and care! Thanks for sharing your story...please say hi sometime.
I look forward to talking with you.

The Depression Center Support Team
HI, I am a 34 year olds who has been suffering from depression since age 12. I have a 15 year old son who has Oppositional Defiant Disorder as well. I work from home and due to something that my son did last year, we have been cut off from the only support system that we have had. This has been the worst year of my life. I have 2 friends that I speak to but never see, live far away. I have social anxiety and because I always do a "no show" to events people stopped inviting me to anything years ago. I attempted to go to my neighbors barbeque this past weekend and was dressed and had a card for her daughter, but I got severe anxiety and could not bring myself to go interract with people. I don't know her that well and started to think she only invited me because I asked her if she was doing something for her daughters graduation when I saw her the other day. I don't think she really planned on inviting me. That sounds paranoid, I know. I don't know how to form friendships and I am always ending up in co-dependent relationships. My illness has caused me to become an isolated person who has no hopes or dreams. I went to college and raised my son alone, no dad around and I bought a home 5 years ago. I don't look forward to anything. I was diagnosed with Multiple Scleroses in 2003 as well. I have an overwhelming feeling of nothingness. My son may be getting locked up this summer as well. I am going to do this program because I hope that maybe I can find the social support I am lacking in my life. Thanks for reading.
