would a doctor refere you straight to a CBT?
ive been on anti depressants before, and ive been off them for a month. i went cold turkey but ive been ok and not as bad as i thought
the whole day was bad when i got my exam result, felt someone i kicked me in the teeth, i was expecting higher.
i understand that we can make mistakes but sometimes it just feels like all efforts made are not always rewarded
i just find it hard when people say "just hang in there", hang in for what? every day nothing changes, maybe our mood, but you cant have a life of feeling up and down, its not stable. well it isnt for me
thanks for the advice, im just muddled up
Hey magicme,
hang in there....I know it's a rough one. Remember, it's just a test and there will soon be another. You probably didn't do as poorly as you think you did, and if you did don't be afraid to talk with your teacher. From one perfectionist to another, tell yourself repeatedly that you are human and humans are aloud to make mistakes:) Again, hang in there and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
magicme,

Hi Magicme,
I can relate to you,You have alot of the same simptoms that i do, the difference is i am 43 now. But it started when i was around 18. I was able to suppress the social anxiety and depression (or Hide it fairly well)by drinking Alcohol.I always thought it was being overly shy. Well it finally caught up with me about 1-1/2 months i found my self so depressed i had to quit my job. I have been seeing a a therapist for about a month now. Started cognitive behavourial therapy and just started this week on Klonopin and Parnate (using the drugs to speed up the recovery i hope) until working with the cognitive behavioural therapy starts taking over. I agree with you about seeing a cognitive behavioural therapist. You are still young enough that you may not need the drugs but, please don't put off going to a therapist.
I hope what i said made sense and will help you.
take care of yourself Chet
woah im having a really bad day

teary eyed

my tiredness can make my moods plummit

Hi, Id like to say hello and its nice to meet you all
like most of you who are here, i suffer with depression, you know those feelings of not wanting to wake up, not wanting to do much, general unhappiness. I got it at such a young age, im 18 now but ive had it for approx two years and its still here. i took anti depressents for a while but now im off them so im coping not too badly but i still have my down days.. you know the lowest points. I also have anxiety problems, suffer from regular attacks, mostly in social situations. ive had some benefits from counselling but yet i dont think they have resolved everything i wanted but its a start isnt it. Hoping soon to maybe see a cognitive behavioural therapist. I hope someone here may relate to what im going through. thank you so much
