Molly,

You can take the program at your own pace.  Make sure you attempt the homework as it is essential to helping you progress to the next steps.

Hi Ashley.

Thank-you for the welcome- I'm glad I found you too..

The program and fourm sound really helpful. I already feel like the first part made me change my thoughts in some ways already. I know its going to take a lot of work but I think I need to give it a go I can't fail any worse than I have over the last five years I guess. I'm glad this program is here as I asked my GP for CBT and the lady that visited me from the health place said what was the point now as it been 3 plus years. I sometimes wonder it myself as because of the negaitive feeling of being outside makes me not miss going out. But then I think I want to be-able to not be scared and walk the dog.

Does the program have a time limit like after x amount of weeks  it ends and you get booted out or can you take it at your own paces?

Take care.

Molly

Welcome Molly24!

I am glad you found us. Anxiety is one of the most managable disorders out there. We have had many members start out like you and are now living their lives unrestrained by anxiety. It takes work to complete this program and continue to maintain what you have learned. It is more of a process then an end goal but I am sure if you get started now you will see results soon.

Any questions so far on the program or website?

Hi hugs4U

Thank-you for the welcome.

yeah my sister is great going with me. I agree it does go up and down with learning. I think some days are better than others

I'm sorry you had a toxic work situation and than got spooked at the grocery store.  its great its got  much better. Even with some unhappy times.

I still avoid grocery stores and going anywhere where loads of people are.

I hope it does :)

Take care.

Hello Molly,
It's great you have someone like your sister to help you.  Welcome.

What I've found, and it might sound familiar about learning, is that the progression isn't linear.  Things go up, and there are off days.

I noticed this after I left a toxic work situation 4 years ago, and was suddenly spooked at the grocery store.  I thought I was so much better, but sometimes, there are situations which trigger unhappy times.

Life gets better, as you'll find with the resources here.

Good luck

Hi Davit.

Yeah it feels a little like that :) Thanks for the welcome  - Well I hope to achieve in the long run to go out without freaking out and getting all anxious and panicky.

I had a shrunk when I first was not able to do all he suggested as I was caring for my mum at the time and my cat had just died with made everything worse. Things that have helped since a little with my anxiety when I'm alone at home. is playing music, writing, petting my two cats or just anything that pulls me from thinking and feeling like I will have a heart attack.  I also tried meditation to see myself outside without really being there and take rescue remedy. Also planning the routes I would take and days I would take them on (that one didn't work all that well)

I have also started getting my sister to go with me to a cafe down the road at 8 am once a week to try and get over the fear of being away from home and around other people, but its very stressful going.

Take care.

Welcome Molly.

Like a first date :-)  Actually you say anything you want to. A bit about yourself is nice, anything you tried that worked or didn't. What you hope to achieve. Just anything. Questions if you have any. We are certainly friendly.

Hi

I'm new to posting here... Not sure what you say on a first time hello...

I joined because I have suffered from anxiety for a long time and I haven't left my house in 3 years so was hoping this could help me work towards overcoming it.

Take care.
