I've always been curious about this. Is there a connection between anxiety and technology that is increasing the chances of panic attacks. Statistics say more females get panic disorders. From observation in my area, and waiting rooms are a good place for this, so are stores, more females text than men. Men use their phones for business more. (men get panic disorders too) In chat rooms there are more females than men. (the ones I know) My female friends are on line more than my male ones. But that really isn't the point. The question remains does the possibility of almost constant bombardment of information cause enough stress to create panic disorders. Better than half the people I know have an anxiety disorder of some sort. From the absolute need to have people around them to an intolerance for noise. And every thing in between. That is way more than the national average. A lot of the people I know are retired, semi retired or single or both. Some have enough time on their hands to spend a lot of time on the computer. I might spend more time if not that where I live it costs me a lot for a little time. Silence is becoming rare and foreign and scary. Simon and Garfuncle , " the sound of silence", I like that song. How many of you play the TV all day.
