Thanks everyone!!! I feel really good and have started jogging again. The lungs are still healing but it felt great to jog for the first time in years. Hi Bear you didn't lose me. I tend to just read sometimes when things aren't going well. I don't go too far. I just don't want to bore people with my problems and it's things I can fix. So many life adjustments and thorns along the road. Boyfriend is leaving today and I'm off looking at a house to buy. I hate renting and miss my gardening as well my 2 cats that my brother is keeping for me until I buy a home. My landlord won't allow pets. I did quit using the patch and it's been 4 days without it. The first 2 days were a b**ch which is kind of why I didn't write. Tomorrow is your big 40!!! I'm really happy for you and I know it's had it's bumpy times but you've held strong It doesn't bother me when you growl though it's cute!!! Tutti and changing have done a great job keeping an eye on you and they are both doing great on their quit as well. They don't seem like the kind of people who scare easily and would let you know if you did something to offend them. Great job ladies!!! Fun news though... my daughter and I did a canoe race and had such a great time. We almost flipped the canoe a few times and took on some water and managed to keep it afloat. We came in last and enjoyed it!!! The current was fast due to all the rain in NY and it was the first time for both of us in a canoe. I can't wait til it gets warmer to do more of it. I'll talk to you later and I still love my trucking sweetie. I'll be posting tomorrow on your big 40 :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,556 Amount Saved: $484 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 5 Mins: 16 Seconds: 14

hey Bear I just honored you on the 40 days on the stats parade. my days are all mixed up and I'm not sure of the time difference for us.Either way I'm so proud of you and tell your landlady your girlfriends don't care about your age!!!! Dreams are great aren't they??? 40 Days is a big deal. When was the last time you went 40 days without smoking, had a harem, had women fighting over what to call your rose bush and had such a wonderful time meeting new people??? Sorry but 40 days sounds pretty significant to me so celebrate sweetie and give yourself a big pat on the back for a job hard earned and well done!!! Welcome and give yourself more value

First of all I need to welcome all the new nonsmokers and soon to be non smokers. I find myself lately pressed for time and have not had much time to post but I do read alot and see many new post. So many of us were new at one time and many of us have reached milestones that we questioned if we could meet. One of the main reasons was our will and if we were strong enough to fight the cravings. We all know how difficult it is emotionally and physically and we questioned whether quitting is all worth it. IT IS WORTH EVERYTHING!!!! You are worth having a life in which you could breathe easier, smell the spring and summer flowers and sadly enough be able to smell smoke if your home should be on fire. It's a sick thought that should your home catch on fire would you smell it??? I for one am so glad to be able to smell again because I did have a small electrical fire and I can tell you, had I still been smoking I would not have smelled it. The smoke detector wouldn't have gone off either because I had taken the battery out so it wouldn't go off when I lit matches. REMINDER PUT YOUR BATTERIES BACK IN THE SMOKE DETECTORS!!! I have read where some of you are struggling and it is worth all the pain. Every second or minute you don't smoke is such a great accomplishment and you need to remind yourself that if you made it through that crave you can make it through the next and the next. Don't forget to give yourself a pat on the back when you don't have that after meal cigarette or not smoke and breathe when your angry. (Those who know me here, know it was an issue for me and I didn't give in) Instead I posted when I felt beaten down and you need to do the same. There is always someone here to help out. It really does mean alot when you do this because it is breaking the behaviors of an addiction that has controlled us for so long. I'm never one to judge when someone slips because it might be me someday but for now my quit is strong and I'm so glad to see so many new people with the courage it takes to make the effort to take your life back. So welcome and don't ever give up!!! READ, POST AND REWARD YOURSELF FOR TAKING YOUR LIFE BACK!!!! Ripped my jeans and a "friend" told me I have a "tire roll" - time to do something!

Count me in ladies and Phil, I've gained about 15lbs in my quit and had to buy bigger clothes and it's killing me!!! Most of it was all the gumballs and twizzlers. I walk at least 4 to 5 times a week and I don't eat much but the belly doesn't get any smaller. I'm also lazy when it comes to crunches. I recently started doing aerobics and hope to see some results soon. It can't happen soon enough though... I'm with you though!!
