6 MONTHS AND CHRISTMAS EVE - WHAT A CELEBRATION!!!!!!!!!

HAPPIE CHRISTMAS EVERYONE, HOPE ITS AN AWESOME SMOKE FREE HOLIDAY FOR YOU ALL!!!

Well I made it to 6 months, yeah, yippee, am sooooo excited to be celebrating tomorrow!!  I dont think I would have made it without you all, so thank you for all your support and heres to the best christmas gift we can give ourselves.....QUITTING!!

Its been tough at times and then a bit tougher and just when you think your thru the worst, bam, it hits you right inbetween the eyes and there comes another craving - or of course the tears (of which there have been many over the last 6m!!) However that all said, to quit smoking was by far the very best descision of my life and 6m on I can, proudly and more importantly confidently state that I am a non smoker....and at long last pick up a packet of cigs, stare them straight in the box and screw them up and tread on them and tell them that I will never flip that lid open again......EVER...NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!!! THIS IS MY FOREVER QUIT, MY LAST QUIT!!! ha ha ha yippee am sooooo proud of myself!!!!!

MERRY SMOKE FREE XMAS X X X X X SMOKIE JO OR SHOULD I SAY NON SMOKIE JO!!!!

I'm flipping out!

hey Hazy, girl you are doing such an awesome job and the day is going by and you still have not had that smoke!!Please stay strong, I know your quit is just beginning but to have put yourself through all those cravings already today and battled thru them and knocked that nasty nicodeamon flying of his perch, that is an amazing acheivment and yes its tough, but you have done the worst bit. Honey if you can do the morning of day one, you can do the rest, YOU ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO BEAT THIS!! You will be so very proud to do this its untrue!!
Are you using an NRT?? I was at wits end on night two of my quit when I found this place, and the inhalator - and with a bit of will power here I am!!! Its worth a try Hazy, anything to get thru the worst bit!! GO GIRL BEAT THAT NICODEAMON ON THE HEAD, KNOCK HIM DOWN, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!AND I PROMISE AT SOME POINT HE WILL STOP GETTING BACK UP........FOR GOOD!! XX

Hopefully last quit!

Hey krazie girl, welcome to the ssc (again!!) and well done on getting thru one day smoke free and of course the best part of day two too!!!  You sound really upbeat and good humoured about your quit - I hope thats the case as it will make it so much better for you.  I also quit before - twice - first time for two and half years and the second time a few months ish!! But now, this time its for real and my forever quit is almost seven months strong, alot of that has to do with the new found friends I found here and the support, encouragement and advice that they have given me! So I am hoping that like me this will be YOUR forever quit!  Good luck honey and let us know how your doing x x

Quit Date is Feb 26th.... May need some help

hi bluesyfreddy, a big warm welcome to the ssc!!! congrats on making your decsion to quit! I am so glad you found this place, again, like many other members am not sure I could have quit without it.  Just take one day at a time and very soon those stats will start to increase and when they do u really wont want to reset the meter!!! Like you I lack confidence in my own quit - and to date still do (I quit previously for 2 and a half years and then started again!!) - which is why I am so pleased the ssc is here, as when those feelings hit you then you post here and wait for five replys!!!! not only will that craving past but the replys your new friends here will send you will make you feel so positive, proud and confidence renewed that you will be back on track in no time!!
Good luck bluesy and keep in touch, we are all here anytime of the night or day, keep strong and keep those carrot sticks and iced water close by x x

How Many Did You Smoke?

I smoked far too many to even know!! I put 25 a day on my inital programme here but I think it was probably a lot more to be truthfull - I just didnt want to admit it!  I even used to chain smoke 2 at a time before work ( after all I wouldnt have another one for 12-16 hours!) and before bedtime ( I wont be smoking till the morning ) and really any other time I could justify in my head having two at a time.  Being honest now I probably was smoking nearer two packs a day and at $10 for 200 the cost didnt come into it!  Gosh what have I done to my poor body....30-40 a day for 17 years, no wonder this time I have been left with a horrible wheeze (which I am still to scared to get checked out!!)
Having also quit for 2 1/2 years before I know that I have to be strong forever and sometimes still worry that I will be tempted by that nicodemon!  The difference, this is my FOREVER quit, and I have you guys (((hugs))) NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE X X X X X X

How Many Did You Smoke?

thanks bob and so nice to meet you, however looking at your 23 days your doing an awesome job anyways :-)) well done honey.
My new years resoloution was to drop by here more and post but sometimes its a tad difficult.  I am a flight attendent and fly longhaul and dont always have access to a pc - and even if I do being stuck in deepest darkest africa or at the foothills of the himalayas its sometimes difficult to get a connection!  However excuses, excuses, I vow to try and pop by and post more often!  Have posted on some other threads today and really enjoyed myself - even though I should be in the gym trying to shed those extra kgs I have gained since my quit :-))
Well enough of my rambling, keep up the good work, stay strong and positive and I will be back later to check on you ;-)
