My first day on Chantix

Today, was my first day on my Chantix. I also decided to stop smoking in my car as well. I thought I would go crazy. I am even on anti depressants and its bad. I couldn't wait to get to the smoke pit at work to have my first one of the day. I just didin't know what to think while I was driving. All I could think about was cigarettes. My quite date is 30 Oct. Right now, I just don't know.

Today is my first day...

Today, was my last day of smoking before my quit date and it seemed to me that everything got on my nerves. So, I can understand why you thought everyone was smoking because, I will be going through it tommorow.

Why do I tend to go to sleep when I don`t smoke?

Hey newquitter, I am right there with you. My quit date is tomorrow, so we could use each other as a crutch if you want. I have been very sleepy myself lately since i have started to cut down before my quit date. It sucks because I can't sleep whenever I want. I have a full time job, and I am a full time college student. One good thing is that I was able to go out to the smoke pit at work and just sit there and not smoke. I was craving, but I just kept telling myself, its not worth it. Good Luck!

Is constant hunger a symptom?

Ok guys, only on day 1 and I have been on the Chantix for 8 days and I have been trying to cut down steadily for this day. The one problem is that I am always hungry! My stomach is growing all day long. I eat breakfast lunch snack and dinner and it never ends. I figured if it was just bordom hunger I would know but my stomach keeps on growling. Any ideas on what I should do? Is constant hunger a symptom?

Wow, That was some quick responses. I just had a banana and I am working on a logic problem to try to keep my head in the clear. Today has been tough, and I am looking forward to the easier days. I am not fond of the hunger symptoms lasting a few weeks. I work out 4-5 times a week anyway, so hopefully I can keep some of the weight off. Thanks, everyone! Rough day

You and your friend are not alone today. Its only day three for me and I have only slept 6 hours in the past 72. It seems like everyone at work is out to piss me off. My troop has an IQ of 4 and doesn't understand why she can't show up to work with Pink hair in the military. Everyone seems rude, I don't really have anyone to talk to. My suposed best friend(her words not mine) just *****es and complains about her husbanad, job, and pregnancy so I don't get a word in....and yes I have talked to her about it...but she just doesn't get how the world just isn't about her. My supirior is making me do stupid **** that is his job but he doesn't feel like doing it so its left up to me. My husband is not going through nearly as much withdraw as I am, and offered to get me a cigarette. I just want to cry right now. I don't want to start back up but I just feel so alone. So, as long as you don't smoke, I wont. We are not close but we are going through the same feelings, so I will try to help you stay strong if you help me. Rough day

Well the funny thing is, that my hubby did quit with me. He just doesn't like to hear me whine and complain and be down. So he offered to get me cigarettes. I did school him on how he should have handled the situation. Oh a positive note, I am having a much better day today. Only a few major cravings, but that could be because no one is really in my office today, so I was able to stay mellow. Today really helped me start believing that there is an eventual end. Still stayin strong, Skully My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $9.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 1 Seconds: 11
