Wow, I think I would consider moving, considering you have a small child.
Here in Texas, you bully your way into someone's home, you may just get blown out of it.

Awww a great big hug to you. I quit for 3 months and messed up got stressed and started up again. The important thing is to pick yourself up, dust off and don't turn a slip into a relapse.
As far as your daughter goes, I assume she is 14, and you are purchasing a home. And for some reason she thinks she has a vote in where you will purchase the home she will live in? What would give her this idea? I would relieve her of that idea first off. Like I tell my daughter, this isn't a democracy. She can voice her opinion and I'll consider it, but I get the final decision. Period. Once she can pony up the cash, she gets a vote.
Just my opinion.

Oh...and about her not caring about your quit, when I was a teen, I was the center of the universe. It was all about me. As they say: too bad they can't move out and support themselves while they still know everything.

Well I hope you don't give up. I know you are going through a tough time, and I am going to leave the encouragement to those way more eloquent than I, if that is OK, but know I do care and am sending you want to quit vibes.
I think sometimes I have gotten stuck on negative thoughts, like "hey, I don't really want to quit" and my mind has seized on them. Which has been stressful for me because on the one hand I want to quit because of health & money concerns, but then I keep latching onto this "hey I don't really want to quit." The two opposing thoughts really jack me up.
This time I am trying to really focus on the fact that I am having these cravings because I have smoked in the past, and smoking will not make them go away. They will just bring on the next crave. And the next. Until I try to quit again or die. If I can just grab this and ride it out, I'll be fine. After all, people who never smoked don't "need" to smoke to enjoy meals, calm down, perk up, focus, or relax.
And picturing the ciggy as the gross little mucinex guy doesn't hurt either. Not to tough to turn him down.

Oh, I think addiction is what's behind all of this smoking business. I see a lot of people posting "junkie thinking" or stuff like that, so I do think it has been brought up.
I think about a routine Bob Newhart did years and years ago called Introducing Tobacco To the World, where Sir Walter Raleigh is calling his boss at the East India Trading Company to tell him about tobacco. It is just sooooo funny and one of the lines is "Well, Walt, it seems to me a man could get that same effect by standing in front of his fireplace" If it were the actual smoking that brought us here, we'd be just as happy sticking our heads in the fireplace and taking a deep breath. But of course we don't do that. But it isn't the smoking it's the nicotine we want.

You know I don't know how I feel about addiction as a disease either. To me, if you have a disease, you are sick and there is nothing you can do to stop or prevent it. You have diabetes, you are a diabetic. You have to control it with diet. With addictions, I think we all play a roll in our addictions and bear personal responsibility for letting it take hold and grow. I can't think about my addiction being something beyond my control. If I think of it like that, for me it is harder to quit.

Hi there and welcome back! I am on Chantix and I have found it to be very helpful. I had very vivid dreams at first, but I am someone who NEVER remembers dreams and they went away in a couple of weeks. But I found them to be enjoyable. The only problem I have had is when they say take with food they are NOT kidding. I got incredibly nauseated when I take it an a too empty stomach. I have to at least have some bread. It only lasts a few minutes, but they are intense minutes.
I also think it is just as if not more important to prepare mentally and really work on that side of things. I know a positive attitude helps as does learning about addiction and nicotine. I believe that has made a huge difference for me this time around.
