Just updating my quit meter.
Nothing new to report.
The cravings are gone,
My leg is still broke,
So have a won-ton
Cause no smokes have been smoked!
I go to the Doc Monday so she can look at the leg again. Wish me luck cause these crutches are really starting to p*** me off!! ;p

Any other time, I would say, "No...I cannot believe it has been a month already!" But this time...I believe it!! I am ready to get off these freaking crutches and be able to put some weight on this leg and walk again. My wife asked me the other day if I was getting tired of having her tote me around. I said, "No not really, but what I am tired of is having to be toted around!...then I went on this whole diatribe of what I am tired of. Just had a moment or 10 of a pity party but am fine now. I picked a fine month to break my leg, quit smoking, and go on a diet! LOL!!
Phil...I no longer recommend breaking a leg to stop smoking. It's not all it's cracked up to be!! LOLOL ;p

Some of you know this and some don't, but on Mar 23rd, I had a coughing fit and broke my leg when I passed out and fell. I have not had a single smoke since it happened, and haven't really wanted one. I mean, sure, had a few craves, but nothing serious. My concern is...what happens when I am more mobile? Will I want one then? Will the withdrawal happen then? Because it doesn't seem like it has happened as of yet!
Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this? I would kind of like to know what to prepare myself for.
Thoughts??!!
Thanks for asking Changing.
I went to my surgeon yesterday, she removed the cast and x-rayed the leg. She said that everything looks good and that she would leave the cast off and put me in a boot that I can take off when I go to bed. I cannot put any weight on the foot right now, so I am still on crutches for another couple of weeks. Oh well, at least I am smoke free!
On a side note...when you log into this site, it asks you what kind of medication or quit assistance you will be using....I think they need to put..."Break your leg" as a choice. It has worked well for me so far!
After reading all the suggestions to this post, I have decided to take it one day at a time in regards to withdrawal. I will not smoke today and will let tomorrow take care of itself.
I remember congratulating a friend of mine when he quit smoking and he said, "Thanks, but I haven't quit yet! I just haven't had one in 2 years!" I thought that was a pretty cool way to look at it.
Gooder news!
The doc said that I can finally start putting some weight on my stilt...but I have to wear the walking boot and use my crutches. Still better than non weight bearing though. Now just have to do therapy for the next 4 weeks and we will see what happens from there.
As far as smoking goes...zero, zip, zilch, nada, none!!! Not even craving...praise God!! Stats are posted below...

Got out of surgery earlier today. They put 6 screws and a metal plate in my leg. In quite a bit of pain right now, but my wife went to go see my drug dealer and get my dope. (Actually Walgreens)
