I am concerned about my quit...

Any other time, I would say, "No...I cannot believe it has been a month already!" But this time...I believe it!! I am ready to get off these freaking crutches and be able to put some weight on this leg and walk again. My wife asked me the other day if I was getting tired of having her tote me around. I said, "No not really, but what I am tired of is having to be toted around!...then I went on this whole diatribe of what I am tired of. Just had a moment or 10 of a pity party but am fine now. I picked a fine month to break my leg, quit smoking, and go on a diet! LOL!! Phil...I no longer recommend breaking a leg to stop smoking. It's not all it's cracked up to be!! LOLOL ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 473 Amount Saved: $103.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 15 Mins: 48 Seconds: 56

I am concerned about my quit...

Some of you know this and some don't, but on Mar 23rd, I had a coughing fit and broke my leg when I passed out and fell. I have not had a single smoke since it happened, and haven't really wanted one. I mean, sure, had a few craves, but nothing serious. My concern is...what happens when I am more mobile? Will I want one then? Will the withdrawal happen then? Because it doesn't seem like it has happened as of yet! Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this? I would kind of like to know what to prepare myself for. Thoughts??!!

I am concerned about my quit...

Thanks for asking Changing. I went to my surgeon yesterday, she removed the cast and x-rayed the leg. She said that everything looks good and that she would leave the cast off and put me in a boot that I can take off when I go to bed. I cannot put any weight on the foot right now, so I am still on crutches for another couple of weeks. Oh well, at least I am smoke free! On a side note...when you log into this site, it asks you what kind of medication or quit assistance you will be using....I think they need to put..."Break your leg" as a choice. It has worked well for me so far! After reading all the suggestions to this post, I have decided to take it one day at a time in regards to withdrawal. I will not smoke today and will let tomorrow take care of itself. I remember congratulating a friend of mine when he quit smoking and he said, "Thanks, but I haven't quit yet! I just haven't had one in 2 years!" I thought that was a pretty cool way to look at it.

Leg and smoking update III

Gooder news! The doc said that I can finally start putting some weight on my stilt...but I have to wear the walking boot and use my crutches. Still better than non weight bearing though. Now just have to do therapy for the next 4 weeks and we will see what happens from there. As far as smoking goes...zero, zip, zilch, nada, none!!! Not even craving...praise God!! Stats are posted below...
