My husband is always telling me that knowledge is power. Seems as though he is right, although I do sometimes get sick of him always being right. So this morning I applied that to my quit. Now, every time I see someone light one up, or if that junkie voice starts breaking thru the sound of my keystrokes, I think about what is in a cigarette. I read a post on ammonia, but there are so many other things in a cigarette that I never knew. I mean, you wouldn't take a bottle of finger nail polish remover or ant poison and light it up would ya? You wouldn't stick your mouth to the back of a plane to inhale the fuel would ya? I mean we are addicted, to you might as well say, weedkiller???? And suddenly it is so crystal clear to me. I would not, absolutely not do anything like this, so why am I willing to pay for such a thing, that's doing nothing but poisoning my body. I'm surprised that we are alive today and have lasted this long.
And then I get angry that such a thing in our society has been allowed, when you have to show your drivers license to buy advil cold and sinus because of the meth heads. But consumers can buy tolulene, ammonia, weedkiller etc, all rolled up in one. Guess I'm probably sounding like a crazy anti cigarette activist by now, but does anyone else ever get ticked off that this stuff is so addicting yet legal???
If I've lost it someone please tell me.... I may be getting too much oxygen....

Way to go Jan, sounds like you have the right idea. I don't know if house cleaning is on my mind yet either. But, I too am looking forward to American Idol. That ought to keep us occupied!

Mister Ed, you may not be familiar with me as I am a newbie. But, I can't wait for my name to be on the Stats Parade. Please carry on......It's like a milestone for us newbies, something to look forward to.
And I'm sure, the advice and time you have put in is impossible to put a value on to the veterans. You are greatly appreciated!

I was doing so good, I know it was only 2 days, but it was alot to me. I have had severe craving issues both days right after work. I don't know what it is, yesterday I hammered the fence and recovered. But, today, there was an issue at the babysitters and I got angry and I caved. I will not lie, I think I smoked 3 in a row, but I'm done. I feel like I cheated on myself. I've been working so hard this week, I just have to figure out how to cope in situations where I can't just take off running and don't have water in my hand. What I should've done is just breathe about 20 times and i probably would have shaken it. I will go again tomorrow. I'm sorry I let everyone down and especially myself, but I am getting back on the horse. I hate this feeling of addiction. I know I am a better person that any addiction.

Well, I guess it would be a good idea to invest in several boards and several nails, although I'm not sure if I could drive and hammer at the same time.
Den, I think you and I are experiencing the exact same thing. The after work crave from hell! I did so good at work today, thought I had it whooped and then out of nowhere comes this hellacious junkie girl inside trying to whoop my *ss!
We gotta take the gloves off girl! We can do this. We gotta stop listening to that junkie and whoop her *ss!
Anyway, I see what my weakness is,... getting angry. So I'm working on ways to combat that... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
