Hi Newbkr, you're not alone & thank GOD that there's people in my life that haven't given up on me. We're here for you whether u make this upcoming quit forever or just another practice quit. The best thing in all of this is that u haven't given up & that says alot! You're right everything does happen for a reason :) Forget the past and don't worry about the future, just try to stay in the moment. I wish u the best in starting your quit tomorrow :) I think you're gonna do it this time & yes it can be your "forever quit". WOOHOOOOOOO!!! Stay close to this site and all of us, 1 day at a time quitters. No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... My Quit Journal

WTG CUDDLES!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! You're definitly on the right track & taking control & motivation for your quit! You're words are very inspiring and reading your journal has got my heart pumping a little fast. Those donuts sounded good as I was sitting here eatting my Jenny Craig oatmeal, lol. Do whatever u want these next few weeks, it's ok :) I don't know if u pray or not but when things seem really tough it always helps me. Crying, beatting up your pillow, sleeping, screaming, ice cream/donuts whatever it takes just don't smoke. One saying I learned in AA is, "If you're in the past or in the future, you're wasting the moment." WOOHOOOOOOOO TO ANOTHER SMOKE-FREE DAY! U CAN DO IT!!! No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... Please help - desperately need support

Hi 3kitties :) U did the right thing to come & post. I know it's hard to ask for help but if it saves your life, it's worth it! I was craving alot during the holidays and then I was ok then craving a little over this passed weekend but now am just fine and very happy that I didn't give in any of those times. I need to say that just b/c we stop smoking doesn't mean life stops. We still have to deal with our emotions and after using cig's for years to escape from "feeling" pain or whatever the emotion,,,it's gonna take quite awhile to "grow up emotionally" in order to not want to grab for a cig. Acknowledge the way you're feeling and if saddness comes, let yourself cry. Don't know why it's so hard to cry and why we fight it so much?? We always feel much better after a good cry :) It's not about quitting forever, it's about making it through just today. 1 day at a time. Forever is too overwhelming. I'll have 10 yrs sober this coming April GOD willing. But honestly,,,all I have is today just like someone who just quit today. The only difference is that I have some knowledge now that I didn't have in the begininng. It's the same with quitting smoking. A drug is a drug is a drug. An addict is an addict,,,no matter what the drug or for that matter no matter what substance we use to escape from our feelings. Whether it be, drugs, food, shopping, sex, adrenalin rushes,,,etc... Hang in there cuz u know you'll be happy u did. Don't let your feeling rule your life or define who you are. We are not our feelings. Feeling come and go through us and are temporary. They will always come and then go. Don't let your feelings control your actions :) Just some advice that's helped me to stay quit. No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... FEELINGS, UGH!

I need to say that just because we stop smoking doesn't mean life stops. Acknowledge the way you're feeling and if saddness comes, let yourself cry. Don't know why it's so hard to cry and why we fight it so much?? We always feel much better after a good cry :) Tears are a gift from GOD. Just think what it would be like if we didn't have the ability to cry. It's not about quitting forever, it's about making it through just today. 1 day at a time. Forever is too overwhelming. I'll have 10 yrs sober this coming April GOD willing. But honestly,,,all I have is today just like someone who just quit today. Correlation b/w Smoke and Drink

Hi, gr8 question. The 1st thing to go when u drink is your judgement. It only takes 1 drink for this to happen :) Check out the thread "Feelings ugh...". No matter what don't lite up... need some advice here......

Hi :) U must do what's best for your baby! You'll find a way. You're 2 yr old can't leave or speak up for herself so it's your job to do it for her. Your Mom's feelings are just that,,,"Her Feelings" & u are not responsible for the way she "chooses" to feel. She should know better anyhow. You have one child to take care of,,,that's it,,,not 2. Let the responsibility of your Mom's feelings lift up off your shoulders :) I'm going to do the same...FINALLY :) Just take care of your baby. Let your Mom read this thread. Print it out if u have to and leave it laying somewhere for her to see if u can't bring yourself to give it to her. Just a suggestion. Sorry if this comes off harsh but it really really ticks me off to see or hear of an adult that is so selfish. Here u are working so hard to improve yourself, lost your hubby and struggling to make it and poor Mom just can't seem to take her stinky smoking butt outside for the sake of her own grandchild. That's just too sad! Just goes to show how bad this addiction is. And I guess I had to say all that to come to the realization that it's very painful to hear it because it hits home and it hurts :( sheese, I never did smoke around kids except in the car with the top down or my head out the window, lol, but being an addict like I know I am I did do very selfish things in my past. Anyhow plz take my opinion for what they are,,,"my opinions",,,that's all, nothing more. No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on...
