Yes! It is sooooo hard to believe when it seems like every nerve you have is raw, and every "feeling" is ten times worse than normal.... but I will admit it's hard but with time and patience and understanding the addiction, it can be overcome! Just don't give in!

I quit smoking on 2/14/02, not easy at all... my father passed away when I was on my way to his beside on 4/4/05... I had to plan his funeral while my mother and her sister smoked non-stop....
If I were to smoke a single deathstick right now I know that I would be back up to two packs a day within a day or two....
My point..... I know that I'm an addict... I know that I cannot smoke, no matter what....
It's a matter of control over oneself..... no matter what! Don't let the addiction control you!

kristilu ~
It's never easy, no matter if it's your first time trying to quit or your seventh.....
Sometimes it's a matter of telling yourself 'NO' when you want to slip. After almost 6 years being smokefree I can still at times want to smoke, but you know what??? I know that I cannot smoke, no matter what. Not one! That's a part of the quit, knowing that you cannot give in, do not allow yourself to give in... after 5 minutes the crave is gone, so wait it out till the next one, and then each crave will become farther and farther apart!
I spent a lot of my time in the bathtub the first couple of weeks (Nov. 2002 Hall of Fame), and boy did it help!!! My daughters will never forget the he11 I put them through when I quit smoking, but they'll also say that they are very happy and proud that I did!
Do this for yourself first, then for your loved ones (because they WILL remember!)
all my best ~
