New here

Hi..just found this place today. I am 25 and have struggled with depression and anxiety since my early teens. I have also battled self injury (recovered!) and bulimia(recovered!). I have been through 8 years of therapy...7 years with one therapist and 1 year with another.

I started meds at age 18 and have been on many different meds. Am now on Seroquel, BuSpar and Prozac.  Am diagnosed as severe treatment resistant depression, GAD and panic disorder. Finally have a great doctor and seem to have found a good combo of meds that is allowing me to live more normally than I have in years.

I don't know what else to say. Just looking for support and others who understand

TCA (amitriptyline)

I'm late responding  but I took Elavil for about a year. I started on it for sleep at 10mg at night and then my doc at the time decided to up it to 30mg at night and 10mg 3x a day. It made me really sleepy but other than that no side effects. No weight gain that I can remember. Really one of the easier drugs I've been on side effect wise. But then I don't think I was on that high of a dose...probably on the lower end

drug assistance program experience

I have no insurance and thankfully Buspar and Prozac are cheap. But with Seroquel I applied and was accepted into the Aztra Zeneca assistance program.

Anyone have any experience with these types programs...aztra zeneca especially. My mom works in a doctor's office and has some experience but I am more curious about how long it took for you to get your first shipment of meds etc. Experience from the patient end and not the doctor office end!

I am thrilled that I got accepted so I won't have to worry about buying seroquel for atleast a year!

drug assistance program experience

Good to hear. They said I should have it within 10 days so hopefully soon! Is yours shipped to your house or to the doctor's office? Mine is to the office...not a big issue since my mom works there..I was just surprised because initially was told it would come to the house. Just happy to be getting it like this or I would have been switching to generic risperdal
