Hello everyone.newbie with panic disorder/anxiety

hi everyone.im new here.just been searching online today for self help/support to over come constant anxiety and panic

im housebound through illness and the anxiety is now really getting me down.im going to start here to try and get motivated to help myself.

a lot of the time im not sure what is anxiety and what is part of being ill.its all become a blurr.for instance ive been dizzy for months now.and also once ive had a panic episode even when im calm i seem to be in a state of unwellness for hours and days afterwards.for instance i had a short panic attack at 10pm.its now 5am and im tired but cant sleep and feel out of it.mind is all fuzzy still.

i appreciate being able to find somewhere like this and hope this will be the start of soem recovery

Hello everyone.newbie with panic disorder/anxiety

hi everyone thanks for your replies nice to meet you

i am under a gp who havent been particularly helpful to me i dont think over the years.i have had anxiety issues a long time too but this was increased 8months ago when my father passed suddenly and i havent seen him for a year particularly with beign housebound so my illness suddenly became to me an extreme burden which i had sort of accepted prior to that but i now feel ive missed so much and i feel desperate to get better

i will talk to my gp again about this program.i havent started it yet to be honest.i made an appointment with my gp but it takes 3 weeks to see her they are so busy.i am sure she will say this is a good idea though as i was recommended cbt but couldnt go to the therapist centre

i suffer severe M.E diaetic neurpoothy and hypothyrodism but i have been checked medically recently with bloods so i know its not those causing extra anxiety symptoms.i am sever vit D deficicnet though so that maybe contributing.i am now on 2000 vit d a day

Hello everyone.newbie with panic disorder/anxiety

hi forgot to say have already seen gp prior to findign this programme.she repeated bloods and all ok apart from the vit D which was even lower than last time.calcium is fine at moment thanks Davit but it maybe not working as good if my vit D is so low.i red low vit d can in itself highen anxiety feelings

gp suggested its the grief thats caused excess anxiety that and with me being houusebound with little support

i have read the section on grief tonight and it says complicated relationships can cause even more complicated grief.it was good to see that in black and white and makes it easier for me to understand why i am feelign like i am still.on top of that 2 sisters are still not talking to me since the funeral as they do not understand my illness and didnt understand why i said i coudnt go along with all the planned services.i had to concentrate on just the main service.

this in itself has caused a lot of stress.and as a family we have not talked about the loss of my dad so ive noone to share the mixed up emotions with.

my gp said she could only offer me anxiety meds for a few weeks but said this was just temporary and id still have to face the feelings at the ends of 2 weeks so i declined the offer and decided to search elsewhere which is when i found here

continued adrenaline

hi i was wondering if anyoen else has trouble switching of the adrenaline feeling even when the anxiety or panic has passed?

and any tips how to make it subside quicker

i had another panic attack today fueled by a stressful event and anxious thoughts.even when the event was all over like usual i couldnt sleep.its 4am and i cant switch of.i dont feel nervous or anxious anymore as in i dnt feel panicy not even anticipatory fear but i feel jittery shakey and unable to relax despite knowing im ok now and everythign is ok

sleeping is always difficult for me after anxiety.i cant switch of and i often get jerked awake when i do drift of.like spasms.it happens every time and makes it harder to cope.once im properly asleep i wake up and the adrenlaine seems to have left then

continued adrenaline

hi thankyou for your help.i will look up some more about relaxation and nindfulness

the problem i do have is i am disabled.i cannot use my legs much due to nerve damage.i also suffer fatigue so spend many hours stuck in bed so when i cant sleep its awful as i am too tired to do much else and dont like to wake my family to ask them to help me get up or anything.they are fed up of my panic attacks and anxiety as it is !!

i think it helps me to know the adrenaline is normal at times even though it just feels like one continued panic attack after another

home alone

i hope im posting in the right section

one of my biggest problems is being home alone and my daughter is going away this week again.

my most severe and the start of my panic attacks was when my daughter who is my main carer went away for a week.i wasnt used to her not being around.i am disabled and housebound.even though i was geting some exta care this caused me so much distress that as soon as she left i ended up having a fullblown panic attack and she had to coem home early from her holiday

since then i paniced everytime she went out of the house.ive managed to learn to cope now when shes out for the day but this is the first time shes gone away again and i already feel ancipatory fear creeping in

im doing the challenge sheets to try and keep my levels lower so i dont go into full blown panic attacks as last time i spent days in anxiety and panic attcks state unable to sleep or relax
