Yes it is me!

I had to re-register too.  It was almost like teaching an old dog a new trick but I finally succeeded!  (I think!)

Did you know?

None... unfortunately as a former smoker I knew all the statistics....  I finally wised up and realised that I could beat the addiction and hopefully NOT become a statistic

Your Top 3 - Advice

I'm with Kiwi on this one....

1. Don't smoke that first one!  (it'll lead to #2, #3, and so on......) The first one makes or breaks the deal and in this case it's a dealbreaker   so don't do it...!!!

2.  Find a way to keep your mind occupied.  All it takes is 5-10 minutes for a craving to subside.  Occupy your mind so that the next craving isn't so bad, and so on, and so on.......  eventually you'll be free because you made your quit happen one craving at a time

3.  Reward yourself!!  When you beat those cravings you should reward yourself !!  The money you are saving by NOT smoking is worth the reward.  Even if you are using an NRT, you still deserve a HUGE reward because YOU are making YOUR quit happen. No one but you can do that!

That's my advice ....

Hubby smokes again...

Hi Cristina,

My advice is that you have to keep your quit separate from your hubby's.  We are all individuals, and each quit is different for each person.  Your quit is going so well, do you want to change that because hubby might be cheating?

My husband smoked when I met him, he now 'dips' instead of smoking.... neither is good for him but that's his choice.  I don't like that he 'dips' and I hope that he'll quit soon but that's his choice not mine.

We can only control what we ourselves do, what our spouses, or significant others do is their choice.  Hopefully we can lead by example and show them that the nicotine free life is worth living

Leslie, Hall of Fame winner for July!

Wow, I've been so busy with helping both of my daughters move that I haven't had much time to be here.  Sorry

Thank you  Deb, Jazz & Sticking to it ~ your kind words mean so much to me

To you Tresa ~ you're one of a kind! I'm so glad you've been a part of my quit journey for so many years!    Here's to the "oldtimers"

My favorite mantra ~  I'd rather be an ex-smoker occasionally thinking of smoking than a smoker constantly thinking of quitting!!  (think about it!)

Ex-smoker ~  Leslie
