I love it! I was at my brother & his wife's for memorial day. They all smoke like freight trains. Anyway, he says does their smoking bother me, I say no, in fact I feel sorry for them because they have to still smoke. The wife says smoking doesn't bother her health at all, she can quit anytime, but she enjoys it and doesn't want to quit. So I told her she should definitely keep smoking. Whole family mad at me. I wish I had thought of what you said... Hey Buttout, -Like your online Tag. But regarding the comments, I wonder if they are feeling like they MUST chose a side. If they know THEY need to quit, but aren't ready to try, or if they are too insecure or weak to go the distance;endure the withdrawals and maybe even gain a few pounds. But under that layer, is it to say that they are not confident enough in themselves to set goals and succeed? So they feel the need to....forgive the pun), "travel in packs"? Think about that and you'll laugh when you see them huddled together, waiting to ignite and do damage if you'll let them. I have a feeling you'll smile and just stroll on by. HA! That was fun. Hey QuitMyster, I liked what you had to say. I will have to try it tomorrow. I am finding it extremely difficult to be around my negative co-workers. I feel like because I have quit smoking that some of my "smoking" co-workers are now against me and treating me different..... Almost like I have gone to the other side.... I almost feel like I did as a teenager, just wanting to fit in. It would be nice to get support from some of them instead of the constant laughter and the "How long did you go last time, 2 weeks? You'll be back to join us soon." It is driving me crazy.... Thought you might appreciate a new spin on this topic. After fielding quite a few questions about stopping method, weight gain, (Moans, etc.), and "how much longer do you think you can hold out," I decided to turn the tables on those who vowed to never quit. I agree, most of them looked cynical or frightened, or both. So I said, "Well I'm glad you've made the choice that is right for you. I guess I am not as physcially strong as you are, because smoking was affecting my health and stamina." There was this long, confused silence, they looked at each other, and I sensed they were looking for permission to continue to do what they were doing. No one has said anything more to me since then, other than "Wow, you are doing great!" Surprising?!????!!! Effective!
