Quit day tomorrow!!!!

The first few days are tough, but you know when you get through them that you are that much stronger. I agree with the post about feeling foolish about smoking, as tobacco companies and the government are really trying to kill us! Let me tell you that it does get easier! I smoked just over half a pack for 13 yrs from the age of 13 and now feel empowered that I've made it 10 days! At first I didn't think I could make it and yes probably the toughest thing I've ever done, but it has gotten easier! Once your body starts to depend less on the nicotine, it starts to transform into a body that doesn't want to smoke or doesn't need to smoke. Keep yourself busy, stay on here, read, post and reward. Remember: N.O.P.E---not one puff ever! You'll love yourself for this, look forward to being a non smoker, it is amazing! Hello moss, Am done my 2nd smokeless day, pretty uneventful. I sleep a lot. Having a hard time to occupy my time. Have not gone out in 2 days. The cravings were not as bad yesterday. I think the physical dependency is almost gone. I don't feel as light-headed as on the first day. Feeling a little sad today but i'm sure it will pass. Some say day 3 is hard. We'll see. Ty all for the words of wisdom and encouragement!!!! You guys and this site is awesome. It has made me realize why i could never quit successfully before. I did not have the right attitude. I felt that by quitting i was losing something i enjoyed and thought i could never live without. But in the past week, i've really looked at myself smoking and i don't know if it's because of the zyban(have been on it for a week) but i didn't get the same pleasure in smoking as i had before. So today is the first day of the rest of my life. I have been up for half and hour and not one cigarette yet(pretty good for someone who used to light up almost as soon as she was out of bed).. and i'm staying strong. Ty again all who encourage!!!! You're the best.

Welcome Queen, I too am in my 40's and used to smoke for years, but I have come to realize that now is the prime time to quit before something worse happens as a result of this habit. If you can, change your perspective and turn on the addiction itself. The companies worked long and hard to keep you addicted so they could have a hand in your pcketbook. The government is really no better since htey have long subsudized tobacco farming while telling you it will kill you, and even better yet taxing you for not listening. I don't know about you but this makes me feel foolish. Stay strong and change your perspective it makes a world of difference. Great decision, Queen! We'll all be here cheering you on. Have you used any of the quit tools here, like the quit program workbook and glove compartment? Do you have some coping strategies ready? Make sure you have ice cold water, something to chew on, and your determination in place. This really is do-able. Keep reading, and let us know how you're doing.
