Hi Wanna :) I just found this thread. Welcome! It really does get better. I'm on my 10th day and am sometimes even forgetting about smoking (and I smoke over a pack a day). Your attitude is really great too! I'm behind you, along with everyone here :) And thank for telling me about the Allen Carr book-- I hadn't heard of it but will pick it up. Wannabe, Congrats on day 3! Don't hesitate to post. Just letting someone know you are going through the same thing can be very helpful and encouragement can be given by anyone. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

You're doing great, wanna! And post whenever you want. There might be someone who is considering quitting who can take encouragement from your words. Yes, this process can be difficult, but it is ultimately do-able, as you are proving day by day. And, yes Allen Carr's books are used by many here. Good for the attitude adjustment ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 237 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,480 Amount Saved: $1,611.60 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 2 Mins: 29 Seconds: 39

Day 3-although difficult to get through each day, I am happy. It has been hard over the last 3 days not to cave in to the cravings that make me miserable, but I know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I just imagine it getting easier and knowing that it will not always be like this. I can beat this as I am the one with ultimate control. I've been checking in regularly but have decided not to post to anyone's discussions as I don't feel I am ready to give others advice or support yet. As a side note I have found Allen Carr's books very helpful in addition to all the great info and posts on this site. Have a great day everyone! Wanna, That is a GIANT accomplishment. The first day is the biggest thing. You decided to do it and you did. Now just keep doing what you've been doing and watch those days grow. If you're craving every hour that is still less than if you were smoking. Please post for help if you feel like you're going to cave. And pamper yourself. Do something really nice for yourself tonight, you nonsmoker, you. I just want to Thank everyone for the quick response posts. I can already tell how much this group is going to help me each and every day! My small accomplishment is that I did not smoke yesterday and am starting to repeat N.O.P.E already. I feel that I am at a time in my life that I can really see myself doing this. I am struggling (about every hour or so) as this is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but I just keep telling myself that I am stronger than an addicition. Thanks again for all the invaluable posts and supportive words. I will be checking back everyday as hearing everyone's success, failures, tips and questions is a great help so far! Thanks to everyone, it is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!
