Hi, I hit my own $200 mark (40 days) today! I started looking for a new digital camera as a reward ... So far, I couldn't find anything I really like within that price range! Perhaps I should aim at the $300 mark, to pay for the camera and its accessories (memory card, camera bag, battery recharger,....). Anyhow, I'm happy to reach this milestone of my quit journey! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 40 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 409 Amount Saved: $200 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 14 Mins: 19 Seconds: 57

Thanks for the encouragement! :) I decided to defer my reward to the $300 (60 days) milestone, as I couldn't find any camera and accesories within the price range of $200! Yes, Gonna, I did put aside the money I saved from from smoking! :) Actually, I did cheat the book! I should have deducted the costs of the NRT inhaler (1 box of 42 cartridges so far) and lozenges (6 NRT lozenges) I used in the last 6 weeks! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 440 Amount Saved: $220 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 4 Mins: 22 Seconds: 11

OMG!!!! I REALLY did smoke to much! I just noticed $232 on my own meter, and in Tennessee (tobacco country) cigs are cheaper! That much in 29 days? I guess 3 packs a day explains it..... CONGRATS, NMC! I am so glad we all quit smoking. That's just a small pock mark in the tobacco industry pocketbook, but it's a start! WTG, NMC!!! A digital camera sounds like a terrific reward AND distraction! Question guys, do you all really put the money saved in a jar? I wish I would have done that! I really don't know where the 'money saved' is going....(?) Kind of like when I get a raise...it seems to just disappear into the dark, cold, chasm of my checkbook!
