Glad things are going well for you guys. Do what it takes. The only promise we can honestly make is that it really will get easier if you just hang in there. Jason's absolutely right. Please think about your rewards. Also, use these easy times to fortify your quit, to improve your strategies for dealing with cravings. When a crisis hits, we only use the tools we have right then and there. New tools will be the result of getting through it, but they will not help while you're in it.

Did you eat sunflower seeds before you quit - maybe the change in appetite is from eating "your weight" in seeds. LOL

All quits are different but we all have some of the same thoughts, craves etc.  It does get better and easier and you'll be sooo proud and happy with your success as your hours, days, weeks add up.

hi Hopefulbutscared,

Great to hear that you are managing alright.  While many feel more hungry after quitting (as food may taste better), it sounds that you are having the opposite thing happen.

It is important to understand that every individual is different and so is every quit.  Do you find that you have feelings of anxiety related to quitting or a general feeling of sadness?  If so, this could be related to your recent loss of appetite.

But, it is also important to note that these feeling in your first week will probably be temporary.  Start to focus on you next REWARD.  Yeah...that is a mandatory part of the program.

Look over Milestone 5 and the section of rewarding yourself.  In general, most reward systems have three components: small one for after each craving, medium for the end of each smoke-free day and a bigger one for the end of each smoke-free week and month.

Please keep sharing all your successes!

In 5 hours I will be quit for 72 hours!

I can actually laugh now about how much I pysched myself out about quitting. I kicked screamed and cried when my husband told me that we were quitting. But now I am on day 3, its been no walk in the park, but it has not been the hell that I imagined either!
I am noticing that the cravings are going away more quickly and they are not as intense today and I am not thinking about cigs 24/7. I am not going to lie I still think about them, but they are not my focus. Although, I think I have ate my weight in sunflower seeds!
The only big differences that I have noticed since quitting are that my appittite has gone way down I have no clue if this is normal or not.
