Day Five - A Party!

17 years ago 0 175 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi everyone - I had the pleasure of attending my 1st social gathering without a cigarette in over 30 years and you know what? It wasn't that bad. I really could care less about the few smokers that there were (there were about 90 people there, about 5 of them smoked either in the corner or outside). I stayed away from the booze like a good boy. I'm still a bit jumpy in day five, so I had to try really hard to concentrate and have a good conversation, but alll in all, I think I did O.K. BTW Lladro: the nickname '2tone' came from the 80's rock band Tommy Tutone (867-5309/Jenny). A real long story behind that nickname so I'll save that for another post... Stay tough everyone and peace. -- 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 137 Amount Saved: $22 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 5 Seconds: 24

You certainly got Out and About quickly. I had to hibernate for a month to keep away from smokers. But, GOOD FOR YOU. I have noticed that there are alot more non smokers than smokers at the social gatherings that I have attended. That does make it easier. I always felt bad for non smoking hostesses in the early 90's. They would clean their house, display the food so lovingly, have the music just right, the lighting warm and cozy...then at the party, the house would be empty and 15 people would be standing in a cloud of smoke outside on the patio or in the back yard. It really is insane, isn't it? 2tone, sounds like your are mentally prepared for your quit. I hope that you have many more peaceful days to follow. Congratulations on your decision to be nicotine free.
