The "pain of quitting" does goes away... believe it new quitters.  There will be weeks and months go by and I won't even think about a cig much less have a crave.  Of course we can't let our guard down because that nasty nicodemon may show up... but it does get so much easier!  So, to all the new quitters... don't give up, it does get better!!!

I am soooo thankful that I am not chained to that nasty nicodemon anymore!!!!!!!!!  WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!

In addition to the pain of quitting being gone, I love the pain of paying for cigarettes being gone too!  $8.50 for a pack of camel lights at a 7-11 here in Chicago!  I almost fell over when I saw that "special price".  So many joys to celebrate in my smoke free life.  Thanks for the reminder Mike, and thank to everybody here at SSC who helped me find my new life!

Mike, that phrase 'the pain of quitting is gone' will be so important to quitters who right at this moment, can never see it getting any easier.
It does, your right, I feel that too. I am loving my healthy new life, I love everything about it, my only sincere regret is I left it so long to get to this place.
I am sure many more 'older' quitters will join with us in celebrating the freedom and rewards of this new life.
