You're doing great Stef!!! Next time you go on a long car ride it will be a piece of cake because you've already conquered it. See that's the way I liked to look at things in the beginning, that there is a first time for everything...first time I had a cup of coffee without smoking, first time I drove to work without smoking, first time I finished dinner and didn't smoke, etc, etc, etc. The second time, of everything is always easier, until you don't even think about it. So conquer, conquer, conquer all of your first times and your cool. Actually you just got through a big unexpected, non-daily, emotional experience, and you came through with flying colors! You've got it in ya Stef, keep forging ahead, your doing wonderfully :) Audrey My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 199 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,980 Amount Saved: $557.20 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 9 Mins: 37 Seconds: 32

Steph, Good job on the car ride. Sorry about your bad news. I used to think likt that, that a cigarette would calm me down, but I found out that that is a lie we learned from the tobacco companies. I am much more calm now that I don't smoke! So remember that it won't make you calm Steph! Let the tears come, feel those emotions and then let them go. Smokes don't make anything better at all. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 151 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,775 Amount Saved: $1,593.05 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 11 Mins: 8 Seconds: 54

WOOHOO!! Stef, that is awesome. Driving can be such a big trigger. It was for me too & it took many, many tortured coffeee straws before I could even drive to work without fear I would kill someone. I mean, on purpose. I know you were worried about that trip & you had a hard couple of days right before & look how wonderfully you came through! So proud of you. I am sorry for your bad news, Stef but it's another mean trigger down. You're doing just great! Thought it was gonna be hard to go on that first long car trip without a smoke. I found it went by pretty fast and i did'nt really think about smoking. YOUHOU!! However, i got some really bad news on my way back (news i don't really want to get into). Let just say that i cryed my eyes out. That was very hard to go threw. I was sitting on the floor...crying like a baby. The only thing i could think of was....MY GOD I WOULD SO LIKE TO HAVE A SMOKE RIGHT NOW TO CALME ME DOWN. But i did'nt...i decided to let the moment past. I knew that if i did smoke i would have cryed for 2 reasons.....the bad news i just got and for starting smoking again. Actually...i'm suprising myself. Still trying to hang in there and be positive.
