Glad you are back and still smoke free!! I think we have the same friend ;p Although I found wearing a rubber band works well also. Snapping it when you think about smoking, ouch :eg: Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 101 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,010 Amount Saved: $303.00 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 16 Mins: 15 Seconds: 14

awesome Penguin :) Good for you. I had forgotten, but I did the bracelet also, it was a prayer bracelet I got as a Christmas gift, I wore it constantly for the first month. Twirling it round and round. What ever it takes!! What awesome news, Pen! You are doing great! 4 weeks down...almost to a month. I can imagine the sky filled with N.O.P.E. hot air balloons..with you, kev, and who else is around 30 days now? Doesn't it feel wonderful when you realize you can accomplish things on your own? Good on the camping! I've found that transitions often trigger smoking thoughts for me, maybe that is what is partly responsible for your thoughts today? Coming back from your trip? Keep up the great quit, Pen! -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 140 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,600 Amount Saved: $952.00 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 14 Mins: 18 Seconds: 12

I am back from vacation and still smoke free! A quit buddy of mine suggested that I take something with me to remind me of you all. I bought a bracelet as a reward just before I left and it worked like a 'charm'. Whenever I had thoughts of smoking and twirled the beads, reminded myself of my commitment, and moved on. I am very proud of myself for remaining smoke free, but also because I accomplished some difficult things while I was away. I went camping with just my son...no help along. I hauled the trailer out to the campground, I back the sucker (30feet) up into a difficult space, set it up, chopped the wood, hauled the water, etc, etc. and then took it all back down and hauled it home again. I didn't even think about smoking, let alone crave. So far, I have been sailing through this quit without too much difficulty with the exception of Day 2 (I hid under the covers all day), and yesterday, where I felt myself sliding into the 30 day pit. I stopped the slide, said "I'm not going there", and climbed back out this morning. Tomorrow I start Week 5 which historically has been a bad week for me, but I am seeing only sunny skies ahead...in fact....I feel like.........flying!!!!
