Hello Jess,

Welcome to the best panic site on the net. CBT definitely works. And this is a fine support group.

Have you tried the other class of anti depressant. The mood stabilizer. One of the tricyclics. It is not related to any of the SSRIs you have taken. It is worth asking your doctor about.

When I have to take something this is what I take, easy on, easy off. I can not take any SSRIs because of the simple fact that they are the wrong medication.

Welcome Jessy... your determination to get well shows in your intro.  That determination will take you far.  This is a great program and you will have a lot of support here.  I'm sorry you've had such pain, but you have come to the right place to change things for the better.

Hello jessymessy,

Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

My name is Jess. I have dealt with anxiety for almost my entire life of 31 years. As a child I was always afraid of something bad happening to me or my family. I was deathly afraid of vomitting. I can remember crying at school at least a few times a week and experiencing what I now know to be panic attacks. I eventually outgrew a lot of those feelings and felt fine for the period between about 12 years old and 17 years old. I now have had intense anxiety and fear about having a stroke or a heart attack. I have had chronic migraines since I was about 10 and they have been a daily occurence for at least a decade now. My blood pressure is high which I take meds for. I am so in tune with my body that I can actually feel my blood pressure rising and I start to panic which only makes it worse. I have seen a therapist for 2 years before we had moved. I have been on Paxil, Celexa, wellbutin, zoloft, lexapro, and effexor. Also just tried cymbalta, but couldn't stand the way it made me feel. I hate the anidepressants because I feel like a zombie when on them. I was prescribed klonopin several years ago and became very dependant on them, taking them every day just to cope. I was able to get off of them which was extremely hard and now I will not touch another benzo again.
I'm glad to have found this site. I have started the first section of the program and feel a little relieved just for the fact that I am not crazy and there are lots of people who experience the same feelings and symptoms as me. It is comforting to feel like I am not alone.
I do not currently work partly because of the migraines and partly because of the panic. It is extremely difficult for me to drive and go out in public alone without my husband. It is also hard for me to be alone at home because I am afraid that I will stroke out and not be able to get help. I am going to take it a day at a time and work through this program.
   Thanks for letting me vent.
      Jess
